Old Paradian Saints Banners - Honour Every Saints Achievement
From milestone games to finals glory, FootyBanners.com crafts custom banners that give Old Paradian Saints players the recognition they truly deserve. Celebrate your champion with a banner built for the occasion.
Simple to Order
We offer Single Player, Two Player, Team, and Grand Final banner options. To personalise your order, provide the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Matt Davis, #14, 100 Games. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, your banner is built to handle a cold Melbourne winter morning in Bundoora without any trouble.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Saints reach the same milestone, a Two Player Banner is the perfect way to celebrate them both. Provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the shared milestone for a quality keepsake they will both cherish.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Feature 3 to 6 players on a Team Banner and give game day an extra dimension of excitement. A top-line message like "Go Saints!" or a dedication to the team captures the spirit of a great season at the Old Paradians.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners are available in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks that last for years. A Saints keepsake banner is a fantastic addition to the clubrooms, the bedroom wall, or the family games room.
Grand Final Banners
Make the Old Paradian Saints grand final entrance one to remember with a 4.5m or 5.5m banner featuring fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us and our team will help you design something the whole club will be proud of.
About Old Paradians Football Club
Origins and Founding
Old Paradians Football Club was founded in 1929 by Lou Arthur, Frank Mount, and Perce Matthews - all members of the Old Paradians Association, the past-students body of Parade College in East Melbourne. Admitted to C Section of the Metropolitan Amateur Football Association (now the VAFA) in its founding year, the club is the ninth oldest in the VAFA and has fielded sides in every season since 1929, with the exception of the war years between 1941 and 1945. In 2023, the club made the decision to leave the VAFA and join the Northern Football Netball League, seeking a return to sustained competition success closer to its Bundoora base.
Club History
The Old Paradians took 23 years to win their first senior premiership, a B Grade flag in 1951, but that success triggered one of the most dominant eras in VAFA history. The club won six A Grade premierships throughout the 1960s, including the distinction of being the first Catholic College old boys club to win a VAFA A Grade flag in 1962. Further A Grade titles followed in the 1970s, 1980s, and in 2015. The club twice won premierships in all three grades in the same year - in 1968 and 1986 - remarkable achievements that stand as landmarks in VAFA records. Peter Brabender holds the VAFA record for most games played, amassing 428 appearances in the Old Paradians jumper. John Booth holds the club record for most senior premierships, with eight flags across playing and coaching roles.
Home Ground
The Raiders are based at the Garvey Oval at Parade College Bundoora, a venue they have called home since 1978 when the club relocated to follow Parade College's move to the northern suburbs. Before Bundoora, the club was based at Yarra Park in Swan Street, Richmond, and before that at Warringal Park in Heidelberg. The Frank Mount Social Rooms and Garvey Oval are widely regarded as some of the premier club facilities in the northern suburbs, and the ground has hosted VAFA finals for more than two decades.
Community and Programs
Old Paradians FC maintains strong ties to Parade College, drawing players from the school's old boys community while also welcoming members from the broader Bundoora and northern suburbs football community. The club fields senior men's teams and has operated across the full range of VAFA grades throughout its history. Since moving to the Northern Football Netball League in 2023, the Raiders have been rebuilding their competitive program, aiming to replicate the sustained success of the club's golden era in a new competition environment.
Bundoora
Bundoora is a suburb in Melbourne's northern suburbs, located approximately 16 kilometres from the CBD in the City of Whittlesea and City of Darebin local government areas. Home to La Trobe University - one of Melbourne's major research universities - Bundoora is also a substantial residential suburb with a population of around 21,000 people. The area is known for its parkland, bushland reserves, and the Plenty Gorge Parklands to the north, giving it a leafy, semi-rural character unusual for a suburb so close to central Melbourne.
The Raiders compete in the Northern Football Netball League and call Garvey Oval, Parade College Bundoora home. Visit the club at opfc.com.au, follow them on Facebook, or on Instagram.

Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
