Port District Football Banners - Celebrate Every Milestone on the Lefevre Peninsula
When a Shark reaches a personal milestone, nothing marks the occasion quite like a custom banner from FootyBanners.com. Whether it is a junior taking their first steps in the game or a veteran clocking up big numbers, we create stunning personalised banners that make every milestone moment unforgettable.
Simple to Order
Ordering your Port District Football Club banner is easy. Choose from our Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options, then provide the player details you want displayed - for example, Jake Williams, #7, 100 Games. Our banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built to hold up through even the most blazing South Australian afternoon at Largs Reserve.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Sharks reach the same milestone on the same day, our Two Player banner has you covered. Simply supply both players names, guernsey numbers, and the milestone being celebrated, and we will bring them together in one high-quality banner they will both be proud to run through.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
For group achievements, our Team Banner option lets you feature between three and six players in a single banner design. Top-line messages like "Go Sharks!" work perfectly across the header to rally the troops, making these banners a favourite at presentation nights and end-of-season celebrations.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. They are ideal for hanging in the clubrooms, garage, or games room as a lasting reminder of what the Sharks have achieved together on the field.
Grand Final Banners
Nothing fires up a team like running through a Grand Final banner. Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with fully customised top and bottom text, these banners are designed to make the Port District Football Club's biggest moments even more special. Contact us for design advice and we will make sure your banner is perfect for the day.
About Port District Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Port District Football Club traces its origins to 1873, when the LeFevre Peninsula Football Club was established to serve the sporting community of Adelaide's port suburbs. The club shared grounds with Port Adelaide in its earliest years and played its first match against Port Adelaide in March 1881. In 1885 the club joined the South Australian Junior Football Association, and by 1898 had been renamed the Semaphore Central Football Club. Throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries the club competed in various South Australian leagues before joining the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL, now the Adelaide Footy League) when it was established in 1911. In 1979, Semaphore Central merged with Exeter Football Club to form the Port District Football Club, retaining 1873 as the founding year to honour the club's full historical lineage.
Club History
The Port District Ditters have won 21 premierships, including their first in 1914 when Semaphore Central defeated Adelaide University in the Grand Final at Norwood Oval after an unbeaten run through 17 of their 18 season games. Further flags followed in 1923, 1924, 1925, 1928, 1931, 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1956, 1959, 1970, 1972, and 1992. The club ended a 30-year premiership drought in 2022, defeating Prince Alfred Old Collegians by 18 points in the Division 1 Grand Final at Norwood Oval. Back-to-back Division 1 flags followed in 2024 (defeating Glenunga) and 2025, confirming Port District as the dominant team in the Adelaide Footy League's top division across the mid-2020s. In 2014, the club paid tribute to the 1914 flag by wearing replica guernseys commemorating their fallen soldiers of World War One.
Home Ground
Port District plays its home games at Largs Reserve in Largs Bay, South Australia. The ground is embedded in the Port Adelaide Enfield council area and reflects the club's deep ties to the coastal communities of Adelaide's north-west. Largs Reserve provides the venue for both home games and training, and the club's clubhouse facilities serve as a gathering point for the Ditters' supporter community throughout the season.
Community and Programs
Port District fields senior men's and women's teams in the Adelaide Footy League, along with junior programs that ensure football development pathways for the Largs Bay and Port Adelaide corridor. The club is known for its passionate supporter culture - the "Ditters Army" - and its active engagement with the broader Port Adelaide community. The club's history of more than 150 years ensures it occupies a unique place in South Australian football history as one of the oldest continuously operating football communities in the state.
Largs Bay
Largs Bay is a coastal suburb in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, located approximately 15 kilometres north-west of the Adelaide CBD. It sits on Gulf St Vincent and is known for its beachfront, boat ramps, and relaxed coastal lifestyle. The suburb borders Semaphore and Largs North and forms part of the historic Semaphore-Port Adelaide coastal corridor, one of Adelaide's oldest settled areas. Largs Bay's maritime character and working-class heritage are deeply connected to the identity of the Port District Football Club.
The Ditters compete in the Adelaide Footy League and call Largs Reserve home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.
Footy Banner Information
All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using solvent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.
We recommend taping broomsticks to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. if you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
