About Port Wyndham Crocs Football Club
Origins and Founding
Port Wyndham Crocs Football Club is based in the historic port town of Wyndham in Western Australia's remote East Kimberley region, competing in the Northern Division of the East Kimberley Football League (EKFL). The EKFL was established in 1970 and the Crocs have long been one of its most prominent clubs, representing both the town of Wyndham and the broader port community in what is one of Australia's most geographically challenging competitions. The club has high Indigenous participation and is deeply embedded in Wyndham community life.
Club History
The Port Wyndham Crocs are one of the powerhouses of the EKFL Northern Division. In the 2025 EKFL Northern Division season, the Crocs topped the regular season ladder with a 75% win rate, demonstrating consistent form across the competition. The club also fields a women's team in the EKFL Senior Women North competition, adding to the Crocs' contribution to football participation across genders in Wyndham. Historically, the Crocs have contested grand finals and been a force in EKFL finals series, with their 2025 campaign representing a return to the top of the competition ladder. In 2023, the EKFL split into a Northern Division (Kununurra-centred) and a Southern Division (Halls Creek-centred), with the Crocs a key club in the reformed Northern competition.
Home Ground
The Port Wyndham Crocs play their home games at Clarrie Cassidy Oval in Wyndham. The ground is named in honour of a figure significant to the local community and serves as Wyndham's principal football venue. Wyndham itself is approximately 100 kilometres north of Kununurra, making away fixtures within the EKFL Northern Division a manageable distance compared to the extraordinary travel involved in earlier EKFL seasons when northern and southern clubs shared a single competition across distances exceeding 1,000 kilometres.
Community and Programs
The Crocs are a focal point of community life in Wyndham, with the club drawing strong support from local residents each season. The club's high Indigenous participation reflects the demographics of the Wyndham area and underscores the EKFL's role as a competition that serves remote Aboriginal communities. The women's team in the EKFL Senior Women North competition provides a pathway for female players in the region, with the Crocs contributing to the league's growing women's program alongside the Kununurra Demons, Ord River Magpies, and Waringarri Crows women's sides.
Wyndham
Wyndham is a town in the far north of Western Australia, approximately 100 kilometres north of Kununurra and around 3,000 kilometres from Perth. It is one of the northernmost towns in WA and sits at the mouth of the Cambridge Gulf. Wyndham was established as a port in the 1880s to service the Kimberley goldfields and later the cattle industry, and the Wyndham Port Meat Works was one of Australia's largest meatworks in its time. The town has a population of around 700 people and is known for its spectacular landscape including the Five Rivers Lookout, which overlooks the confluence of five rivers. The area experiences a tropical climate with a distinct wet season, and football fills an important role in community life during the long dry season months.
The Crocs compete in the East Kimberley Football League Northern Division and call Clarrie Cassidy Oval home. Follow the Port Wyndham Crocs on Facebook for news, fixtures, and match day updates.

Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
