About Rockingham Rams Football Club

Origins and Founding

Rockingham Rams Football and Sporting Club is one of the oldest football clubs in the Peel district, with more than 60 years of history on the south-western shores of Perth. Founded in the early 1960s, the club began competing in the West Australian Amateur Football League (WAAFL) before making the move to the Peel Football League (PFL) in 1994. The Rams bring together players from across the City of Rockingham across junior, youth, and senior competitions, making the club one of the most comprehensive football organisations in the region.

Club History

After joining the Peel Football League in 1994, the Rams wasted little time establishing themselves as a competitive force, claiming their first PFL premiership in 1997. The club's senior program includes League, Reserves, and Colts, while the junior development arm caters to players from five years of age through to Under 18. The Rockingham Rams have a proud record of producing AFL-listed talent, with notable draftees including Aaron Naughton (Western Bulldogs), Daniel Wells (North Melbourne), Calvin Lawrence (Melbourne), Bradley Walsh (Carlton), and Joshua Schoenfield (Gold Coast Suns). Brian Cook, who served for many years as CEO of Geelong Football Club, also has ties to the club. Each season, junior players from the Rams are selected in Peel Development Squads, reflecting the quality of the club's player development program.

Home Ground

The Rams are based at Anniversary Park, located on the corner of Leghorn Street and Council Avenue, Rockingham WA 6169. The park serves as the club's competition and training hub, hosting matches for all grades from Auskick through to senior league. The ground's central location within the Rockingham suburb makes it easily accessible for the club's approximately 600 registered players and their families.

Community and Programs

With around 600 players registered across all age groups, the Rockingham Rams are one of the largest football clubs in the south-west corridor of the Perth metropolitan area. The club runs Auskick for children from five years of age, with junior and youth competition teams catering to players through to Under 18. The senior program fields League, Reserves, and Colts teams. The Rams actively support the pathway from grassroots junior football through to state-level development programs, and the club's track record of producing AFL-listed players reflects this commitment to excellence in player development.

Rockingham

Rockingham is a suburb and city located 47 kilometres south-south-west of Perth, serving as the primary centre for the City of Rockingham. Situated at Mangles Bay on the southern extremity of Cockburn Sound, Rockingham is known for its beachside setting, the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park to its south-west, and HMAS Stirling - Australia's largest naval base - on nearby Garden Island. Established in 1847, Rockingham has grown into one of the most populous local government areas in Western Australia, known for its relaxed coastal lifestyle and strong community culture.

The Rams compete in the Peel Football League and call Anniversary Park, Rockingham home. Visit the club at rockinghamrams.org.au, follow them on Facebook, or on Instagram.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy
