When the Smithfield Panthers charge through a custom-designed FootyBanners.com run-through banner on a cool Adelaide morning, it sets the tone for an afternoon of hard, contested football. A great banner captures the spirit of the Panthers and gives every player the ideal way to start a game they have been preparing for all week.

Ordering a Smithfield Panthers banner is easy. Upload a photo, add the text you want, and our design team handles the artwork. A proof is sent back for your sign-off before anything goes to print, so the final result is exactly what you had in mind.
Two Players, One Banner
Two Panthers side by side on one banner - it is one of our most popular designs. Perfect for co-captains, a standout combination, or two players who have been outstanding all season. The two-player banner creates an image the whole club will talk about long after the game is done.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Bring the full Panthers squad together on a team banner for end-of-season presentations, milestone rounds, or any celebration that the whole group deserves. Every player gets their moment in a photograph worth keeping forever.
Wall Keepsake Banners
A wall keepsake banner turns a great season into a lasting piece of Panthers history. Hang it in the clubrooms, give it to a retiring club favourite, or display it at home as a permanent reminder of a year the whole club can be proud of.
Grand Final Banners
When the Smithfield Panthers make the grand final, the day demands something special. Our grand final banners are designed for the biggest game of the season and help every Panther step through the paper knowing exactly what they are playing for.
About Smithfield Sports and Social Club
Origins and Founding
The Smithfield Football Club was established in 1919, making it one of the oldest community sporting clubs in Adelaide's northern suburbs. Over more than a century of operation, the club has developed into the Smithfield Sports and Social Club Inc., fielding senior football teams in the Adelaide Footy League as well as cricket, netball, and junior football programs. The Panthers, as the senior footballers are known, have been a fixture of the northern suburbs sporting landscape for more than 100 years.
Club History
The Smithfield Sports and Social Club has operated continuously since 1919, surviving the challenges that have seen many comparable community clubs fold or merge over the decades. The club competes in the Adelaide Footy League (AFL SA), which administers amateur football across the greater Adelaide region. Junior football at Smithfield was relaunched in 2019 after approximately a decade without youth teams, following the establishment of a women's senior team in 2018. The junior revival was rapid: the new Auskick program attracted 62 children in its first term, making it one of the most popular Auskick venues in Adelaide's north at launch. The club now runs boys and girls teams from Auskick through Under 7s, Under 9s, and Under 12s within the SANFL Juniors competition, with plans for further expansion.
Home Ground
The Smithfield Panthers play out of facilities in the suburb of Smithfield in Adelaide's northern corridor, part of the City of Playford. The club's social rooms serve as a community hub for players, families, and supporters across the surrounding area, providing a welcoming space that goes beyond game day to include social events and fundraisers.
Community and Programs
The Smithfield Sports and Social Club has built its community offering around football, cricket, and netball, creating a genuine multi-sport hub for the area. The women's senior football team, which launched in 2018, played an important role in reigniting the club's junior recruitment, with families drawn to the club through women's football subsequently forming the backbone of the revived junior program. The club's inclusive approach - offering something for players of all ages and genders - reflects the broader character of Smithfield as a diverse and growing community.
Smithfield
Smithfield is a suburb in Adelaide's northern growth corridor, located approximately 27 kilometres north of the Adelaide CBD within the City of Playford. The area is part of one of South Australia's fastest-growing regions, with new residential developments bringing a steady stream of young families to the suburb and surrounding areas including Elizabeth, Davoren Park, and Munno Para. Smithfield is well connected via the Gawler train line, making it accessible to players and supporters from across the broader northern suburbs.
The Panthers compete in the Adelaide Footy League and represent one of the north's longest-established football clubs. Visit the Smithfield Sports and Social Club website and follow the club on Facebook for the latest news, fixtures, and membership information.
Footy Banner Information
All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using solvent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.
We recommend taping broomsticks to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. if you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
