Surf Coast Suns Football Club Banners - Shine Bright on the Surf Coast
There's no better way to mark a player's big day than a custom-made banner right from FootyBanners.com. Whether it's a junior player hitting a first milestone or a senior Suns veteran reaching a century of games, our personalised banners make the moment unforgettable for the whole club.
Simple to Order
Choose from a Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner to suit the occasion. To get started on a player banner, simply provide the name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Tyler Moore, #23, 100 Games. All banners use permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, ready for a blazing summer afternoon at Torquay or whatever the Victorian coast throws at game day.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Suns players are reaching the same milestone in the same round, our Two Player banner is the perfect solution - one quality banner, two names, one great celebration. Just supply both players' names, guernsey numbers, and the milestone being recognised.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Fitting 3 to 6 players on a single banner, our Team Banner is ideal for grand final nights, presentation evenings, or celebrating a standout group from the season. A top-line message like "Surf Coast Suns - Shining in the AFL Barwon" captures the spirit of what the club is all about.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks and built to last. Whether they go up in the Suns clubrooms, a family home, or the garage, these banners are a permanent reminder of what was achieved on the field.
Grand Final Banners
Our Grand Final Banners come in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes, with fully customised top and bottom text tailored to the Surf Coast Suns Football Club. Contact us ahead of finals time for expert design advice to ensure your banner makes the biggest impact on game day.
About Surf Coast Suns Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Surf Coast Suns Football and Netball Club was established in 2016 as a junior-only club in response to the rapid residential growth of northern Torquay throughout the 2010s. A small group of community volunteers formed the club and entered teams into the AFL Barwon junior competition in that inaugural season. Within just a year of launching, the club was able to field junior netball teams as well, becoming a dual-code sports organisation from very early in its existence. The club's formal name is the Surfcoast Suns Football and Netball Club Inc., and the Suns nickname has quickly become part of the fabric of life in this fast-growing coastal community.
Club History
After spending nine years as a junior-only club competing in AFL Barwon, the Suns were accepted into the Bellarine Football Netball League (BFNL) in 2024, with their senior football debut scheduled for the 2026 season. During their junior years, the club enjoyed considerable on-field success, winning multiple premierships across the under-14 and under-16 age groups throughout the period from 2016 to 2024. The decision in 2024 to apply for BFNL membership reflects the maturity of the club and the growth of the Torquay community it represents.
Home Ground
The Suns play their home games at Polwarth Oval and Grenville Oval, both located within the Banyul-Warri Fields Sporting Precinct in northern Torquay. The precinct is a modern, purpose-built sporting facility that serves the growing residential communities of the Surf Coast Shire's northern growth corridor. The club's home base at Banyul-Warri Fields was also the subject of a multi-million dollar upgrade proposal in 2025, which would significantly enhance facilities for players, officials, and the broader community.
Community and Programs
The Suns are firmly positioned as a community club, offering football and netball programs across a wide range of age groups from junior through to senior level. The club's volunteer-led model has been central to its growth since 2016, and as the club transitions into senior competition in 2026, it brings with it a strong base of junior-developed talent and a growing supporter base from across Torquay and the Surf Coast Shire. The club's dual-code structure means that families can be involved in both football and netball under the same banner.
Torquay
Torquay is a coastal town in Victoria's Surf Coast Shire, located approximately 95 km south-west of Melbourne's CBD. The town is internationally recognised as the home of Australian surfing, anchored by world-famous Bells Beach, which hosts the annual Rip Curl Pro surfing championship. Torquay's population has grown dramatically in recent decades, rising from around 13,258 in 2016 to an estimated 29,500 by 2026, making it one of Victoria's fastest-growing regional towns. Northern Torquay in particular has seen significant new residential development, creating the community base from which the Surf Coast Suns have grown.
The Suns compete in the Bellarine Football Netball League and call Polwarth Oval and Grenville Oval, Torquay, home. Visit the Surf Coast Suns website for the latest news and registrations, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for match day updates.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
