Simple to Order
Our Single Player Banner is perfect for celebrating individual milestones. Just provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jake Wilson, #22, 150 Games - and we do the rest. Printed with permanent weatherproof inks on heavy-duty paper, your Swan Athletic banner will stand up to whatever the blazing WA afternoon throws at it.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Swan Athletic players share the same milestone, our Two Player Banner is the perfect way to celebrate both at once. Supply both players' names and guernsey numbers and we'll create a quality banner that does justice to the occasion.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
The Team Banner option covers 3 to 6 players in one design - ideal for a cluster of milestone games or a group achievement. A bold top-line message like "Go Swan Athletic!" pulls the banner together and makes it one the club will remember.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks that stand the test of time. Hang yours proudly in the clubrooms, garage, or games room as a lasting tribute to Swan Athletic Football Club.

About Swan Athletic Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Swan Athletic Sporting and Community Club was founded in 1945 by a dedicated group of community members, predominantly of Croatian heritage, on McDonald Street in Herne Hill in the Swan Valley. The organisation began as a social and sporting hub and grew to encompass football, soccer, cricket, and netball. The Australian rules football arm of the club was established as the Herne Hill Football Club in 1957 and competed in the Perth Football League from the outset. In 1969, the club was renamed Swan Athletic Football Club to reflect its broader community identity.
Club History
Swan Athletic entered the Perth Football League and quickly established itself as a competitive force. In 1957, the club won the First Division premiership - a title claimed by champion rover Ron Adair, who also captained Australia internationally. The club's history in the Perth Football League spans decades of competition, and the football club has built a strong playing roster across multiple grades. The club gained wider attention in 1957 when the Yugoslav national soccer club Hajduk Split toured Western Australia and played a friendly match against Swan Athletic at Midland Junction Oval, reflecting the club's strong Croatian community ties. By 2025 the football club fields seven teams - four men's grades, two colts sides, and a women's team.
Home Ground
Swan Athletic plays its home games at Swan Athletic Oval on McDonald Street in Herne Hill, Western Australia. The ground is the central hub of the Swan Athletic Sporting and Community Club, hosting football, cricket, and social functions year-round. Herne Hill sits in the Swan Valley, approximately 25 kilometres north-east of Perth's CBD, within the City of Swan local government area.
Community and Programs
The Swan Athletic Sporting and Community Club serves over 500 members across its various sporting codes and social programs. The football club is an important part of this broader community ecosystem, offering participation pathways from junior colts through to senior men's and women's football. The club's Croatian heritage remains a source of cultural pride and is woven into the club's social identity, making Swan Athletic one of the most distinctive community clubs in the Swan Valley region.
Herne Hill and the Swan Valley
Herne Hill is a small locality in the Swan Valley, one of Western Australia's most celebrated wine and tourism regions, located approximately 25 kilometres north-east of Perth. The Swan Valley is known for its wineries, orchards, and heritage buildings, and Herne Hill itself is a quiet residential area within the City of Swan. The broader Swan Valley region has seen significant residential growth in recent decades, and Swan Athletic Football Club has served as a consistent community anchor throughout that growth.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
