📝 How to Order Your Personalised Tanunda Magpies Footy Banner
Ordering your Tanunda Magpies milestone football banner is easy. First, choose your size and type—Small, Medium, Large, Team, or Grand Final. Enter the player’s first name, last name, and guernsey number (for example, Michael Smith, #23), and specify the milestone games being celebrated, like a 150-Game milestone.
Our heavy-duty paper and permanent inks ensure your custom footy banner will look sharp and stay strong in rain, wind, or sunshine.
If you’re ordering a two-player football banner, both players must share the same milestone. Enter both names and guernsey numbers, and we’ll print an affordable, high-quality two-player milestone banner for the Tanunda Magpies Football Club.
For Team banners showcasing three to six players, select the Team Banner option. List up to six player names. We’ll optimise the layout for a premium group AFL footy banner that highlights all your milestone achievers.
If you’d like a custom team banner with a slogan, simply add your top text (such as "Great Team Effort This Year!") and a bottom tagline. We'll design a team footy banner that captures the true spirit of the Tanunda Magpies Football Club.
We also offer wall keepsake banners, available in Small, Medium, or Large. These scaled-down versions of your AFL run-through banner are printed on thick, recyclable paper with waterproof inks—perfect for displaying at home, in the games room, shed, or the clubrooms.
Finally, for the ultimate celebration, order a Grand Final banner. Choose from a 4.5 metre or a massive 5.5 metre size, with fully custom top and bottom text. Contact us for bespoke design advice, and celebrate with a Grand Final footy banner that makes your Tanunda Magpies Football Club stand out on the biggest day of the season.
About Tanunda Magpies
Origins and Founding
The Tanunda Football Club, nicknamed the Magpies, was officially established in 1908 in the Barossa Valley town of Tanunda, South Australia. In fact, teams representing Tanunda had been competing informally for almost 20 years before the club's formal foundation. Tanunda became a founding member of the Barossa and Light Football Association (BLFA) and quickly established itself as one of the region's most competitive clubs. The club's motto is "Pride, Passion, Respect."
Club History
The Magpies first reached a Grand Final in 1926, with further finals appearances in 1932, before winning their first premiership in 1934. The club went on to win nine more BLFA flags, claiming titles in 1936, 1937, 1947, 1950, 1951, 1961, 1963, 1980, and 1982. In 1987, the BLFA merged with the Gawler and District Football League to form the current Barossa Light and Gawler Football Association (BL&GFA), and Tanunda won the inaugural BL&GFA flag that same year. The Magpies have been one of the most successful clubs in the BL&GFA era, winning the premiership in 1989, 2002, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2019. The 2008-2011 run produced four consecutive flags, with the 2008 and 2010 sides going through their entire seasons undefeated. Tanunda have also produced significant AFL talent, most notably Justin Westhoff, who played 280 games for Port Adelaide, and his brother Matthew Westhoff (6 games, Port Adelaide).
Home Ground
The Magpies play at Tanunda Oval in the heart of Tanunda. The ground has been the club's home throughout its 117-year history and is centrally located in the Barossa Valley township. Tanunda Oval hosts community events and serves as a gathering point for the broader Barossa Valley community during the football season.
Community and Programs
The Tanunda Football Club runs senior men's and women's teams, junior programs, and a strong volunteer and membership base rooted in the German Lutheran heritage of the Barossa. The club is a key social institution in Tanunda, with generations of local families represented in its history. The club produces talent for higher-level competition and has a Hall of Life membership list stretching back to 1963, recognising decades of service and commitment from the community.
Tanunda
Tanunda is a historic town in South Australia's Barossa Valley, located approximately 70 kilometres north-east of Adelaide in the Barossa Regional Council area. The town is the commercial heart of the Barossa, renowned internationally for its wine industry and German heritage dating from Lutheran settlement in the 1840s. Tanunda is known for its historic churches, Prussian-era streetscapes, and wine tourism, and draws significant domestic and international visitors throughout the year.
