Walkerville Junior Banners - Young Lions of the Inner North

Junior football in Adelaide's inner north is a wonderful tradition, and a custom-designed FootyBanners.com run-through banner makes every game day even more memorable for Walkerville Junior players and their families. Watching young footballers burst through their own banner is a moment that never gets old.

Simple to Order

Ordering a Walkerville Junior banner is easy. Upload a player photo, add the message you want, and our design team handles the artwork. A proof is sent back to you for sign-off before anything is printed, so the final banner is exactly as you imagined.

Two Players, One Banner

Two young Walkerville players together on one banner is a favourite for junior clubs. Best mates, brothers, or two kids who have been brilliant all season together - the two-player banner creates a keepsake both families will treasure for many years.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Get the whole junior squad on a team banner for end-of-season presentations or milestone club events. Every player gets their place in the photo, and the group shot becomes a record of a team the whole club can be proud of.

Wall Keepsake Banners

A wall keepsake banner is the perfect way to capture a child's junior football journey. From their first season right through to stepping up to under-age competition, a quality keepsake banner is a gift every football family treasures.

Grand Final Banners

When the Walkerville juniors make the grand final, the day calls for a banner that matches the moment. Our grand final banners are built for the biggest junior game of the season and give every young player a send-off they will remember forever.

About Walkerville Junior Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Walkerville Junior Football Club was established in 1961, making it one of Adelaide's most enduring junior football organisations. From modest beginnings more than six decades ago, the club has grown into a powerhouse of junior football in South Australia, earning recognition as a vital feeder system for the Walkerville Football Club (SANFL), and beyond that to the AFL. The club has recorded 39 premierships since 1971 - a testament to the sustained quality of its football programs and the strength of its community base.

Club History

Over 60-plus years of operation, the Walkerville Junior Football Club has built one of the most respected junior programs in South Australia. The club was named SANFL Juniors Club of the Year in 2023, an award that reflects its commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and development-focused environment for young players. With 24 teams across boys and girls competitions from Under 7 to Under 18, and more than 450 registered players, the club is one of the largest junior football clubs in the Adelaide region. Its Hall of Fame honours the many players and volunteers who have shaped the club's identity over the decades.

Home Ground

The club's home is Walkerville Oval, a well-appointed community ground that the club shares with the Walkerville Football Club. The oval is situated in the inner-northern suburb of Walkerville, within easy reach of the Adelaide CBD. The Walkerville Football Club itself was founded in 1901 and is one of the ten oldest clubs in the Adelaide Football League, giving the precinct a deep football heritage that the junior club has built on since 1961.

Community and Programs

The Walkerville Junior Football Club runs an AFL Auskick program for children aged 6 and under, introducing the youngest players in the community to the sport before they progress into the club's Under 7 teams. The club's committee, coaches, and family volunteers are the backbone of the operation, creating an environment where every player feels supported regardless of ability. Programs for both boys and girls across all age groups from Under 7 to Under 18 ensure that Walkerville Junior FC has something to offer every aspiring young footballer in the area.

Walkerville

Walkerville is an inner-northern suburb of Adelaide, located approximately 3 kilometres from the CBD and sitting within the Town of Walkerville - one of South Australia's smallest local government areas by population. The suburb is bordered by Fitzroy to the south, Medindie to the northwest, and Gilberton to the west. Known for its leafy streets, heritage homes, and strong community identity, Walkerville is an affluent and well-established suburb with a long history of supporting its local sporting clubs.

The Walkerville Junior Football Club competes in the SANFL Juniors competition and calls Walkerville Oval home. Visit the WJFC website for registration, premiership records, and club information, and follow the club on Facebook for news and match-day updates.

  • Footy Banner Information

All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using solvent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.

We recommend taping broomsticks to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it.  if you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.

On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
