About Wanneroo Junior Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Wanneroo Junior Football Club (WJFC) was established in 1964, making it one of the oldest junior football clubs in the Perth metropolitan area. Known as the Roos, the club was formed to provide structured junior Australian rules football for the children of Wanneroo, a suburb that in the early 1960s was still a semi-rural market garden area on the northern fringes of Perth. Over the following six decades, Wanneroo transformed into one of Perth's most rapidly growing urban corridors, and the Wanneroo Junior Football Club grew alongside the community, becoming a cornerstone of junior sport in the City of Wanneroo region.
Club History
In 1964, Wanneroo JFC joined what would eventually become the Perth Football League junior competition, participating under the Subiaco District Football Club's junior competition structure. Over the club's more than 60-year history, the Wanneroo Junior Football Club has grown from a modest local side to one of the largest and most well-established junior clubs in Western Australia's northern metropolitan corridor. The club has produced numerous players who have progressed through the junior ranks into senior and semi-professional football, reflecting the quality of the development pathway the Roos have established over decades of operation. The club's long history makes it a respected institution in Perth junior football, with many families maintaining multi-generational involvement.
Home Ground
The Wanneroo Junior Football Club plays its home matches and conducts training at grounds in the Wanneroo area of the City of Wanneroo, north of Perth. The Wanneroo district has extensive recreational reserves and sporting facilities that have developed alongside the suburb's residential growth over the past six decades. The club's home facilities serve as a central hub for junior football activity throughout the winter season, bringing together hundreds of families from across the northern suburbs for training nights and weekend competition.
Community and Programs
The Wanneroo Junior Football Club fields teams across all junior age groups from Auskick through to Under 18 level, providing a comprehensive development pathway for young footballers across the City of Wanneroo region. The club has grown to cater to the dramatic population expansion of Perth's northern corridor, fielding multiple teams in most age groups to accommodate the large number of registered players. Girls football has grown significantly within the Wanneroo JFC program, with dedicated youth girls teams at various age levels competing within the Perth Football League's junior competitions. The Roos maintain a strong focus on player development, fair play, and community participation as the foundational values that have sustained the club since 1964.
Wanneroo
Wanneroo is a suburb in the City of Wanneroo, located approximately 25 kilometres north of the Perth CBD in Western Australia. The area was historically known for its market gardens and horticultural production, including the tomato farms that gave the suburb much of its early character. Over the past four decades, Wanneroo and the surrounding City of Wanneroo have undergone extraordinary residential growth, with the City's population exceeding 230,000 residents making it one of Western Australia's fastest-growing local government areas. The region is served by major infrastructure including the Mitchell Freeway extension and the Joondalup rail line, connecting the northern suburbs to the Perth CBD. The area retains some of its horticultural heritage at the Wanneroo Botanic Gardens and the nearby Carabooda market garden district north of the suburb.

Footy Banner Information
Material: All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using permanent inks which will not run, even if they get wet. They are fully recyclable.
How to Use: We recommend taping broomsticks or plastic pipe to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. If you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through. There are instructions and images for how to cut these in the FAQ section below.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon! This is why we do not pre-cut them, and also so you can get photographs with your intact banner when it looks at it's best.
Tip: Some players choose to only cut one weak spot in their banner so it can be saved and displayed later by taping it back together on the back.Pro Tip: Cut the weak spot to one side of the mascot or team logo so it stays intact as well!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
