Westbourne Grammarians Football Banners - Celebrate the Spirit of the Grammarians

From a player's milestone game to a grand final campaign, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners for the Westbourne Grammarians that honour the traditions and pride of this great Old Grammarians club. Whatever the occasion, let's help you celebrate it in proper Grammarians style.

Simple to Order

Order a Single Player Banner by providing the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Tom Barker, #11, 100 Games. Our banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper ready to handle a cold and blustery Melbourne day at the ground. Built tough - made to last.

Two Players, One Banner

Celebrating two Grammarians legends at once? Our Two Player Banner lets you honour both players on a single banner - just provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the milestone they're reaching. Double the occasion, same outstanding quality.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Bring the whole squad together with a Team Banner featuring 3 to 6 players. Set a top-line message like "Westbourne Grammarians - Tradition and Excellence" and give your team something truly special to run through. Perfect for a big season milestone or finals campaign.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks - ideal for the clubrooms, the garage, or the games room. A lasting tribute to the Westbourne Grammarians and the proud traditions of Old Boys football.

Grand Final Banners

About Westbourne Grammarians Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Westbourne Grammarians Football Club (WGFC), nicknamed the Warriors, traces its origins to the Old Westbourne Grammarians Football Club, which joined the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) in 1991. The current club was established in its present form in 2014, following a split within the Old Westbourne club after a Division 3 wooden spoon season in 2013. A group of loyal Old Westbourne players and officials separated to form Westbourne Grammarians, re-entering Division 4 of the VAFA while retaining the proud history of the predecessor club. The club is associated with Westbourne Grammar School and plays its home games at the Westbourne School Ground on Sayers Road, Truganina.

Club History

Westbourne Grammarians has built a strong premiership record across senior, reserves, and women's football. The club won Division 4 premierships in both 2004 and 2016, with the 2004 season producing a remarkable double by claiming both the seniors and reserves flags. The 2016 season was another double for the club, with the VAFA Division 4 seniors and reserves titles won ahead of close rival Point Cook. The club's senior side also won the Division 3 flag in 2007, representing three men's senior premierships for the combined club history.

The women's program has been a standout success. WGFC entered the VAFA women's competition in 2018 and won the Division 3 flag in their first season. In 2026 the club's women's team rose into the Premier Women's competition for the first time - the top tier of VAFA women's football - a historic milestone for the club's female players and supporters.

Home Ground

Westbourne Grammarians plays home matches at the Westbourne School Ground, Sayers Road, Truganina, in Melbourne's outer western suburbs. The ground sits on the Westbourne Grammar School campus and provides oval facilities for both the school and the football club. Truganina is located within the City of Wyndham, approximately 25 kilometres south-west of the Melbourne CBD, and is one of Melbourne's fastest-growing outer suburban areas.

Community and Programs

WGFC fields multiple senior teams, a reserves side, and an Under-19s team, as well as the growing women's program that reached the VAFA's Premier Women's competition in 2026. The club is affiliated with Westbourne Grammar School and draws membership from the Truganina, Hoppers Crossing, Werribee, and broader Wyndham community. A Girls and Women's Footy Academy has been established to develop female players from across Melbourne's western suburbs, open to participants regardless of club affiliation.

Truganina

Truganina is a rapidly developing suburb in Melbourne's outer western fringe, located within the City of Wyndham approximately 25 kilometres south-west of the CBD. The area has experienced extraordinary population growth since the 2010s, driven by large-scale residential development across the Wyndham LGA. Truganina borders Williams Landing, Hoppers Crossing, and Laverton North, and sits adjacent to the Princes Freeway corridor. The broader Wyndham region is among the fastest-growing municipalities in Australia, with its population expected to continue growing substantially through the late 2020s.

The Warriors compete in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) and call the Westbourne School Ground in Truganina home. Visit the club website for more information and follow them on Facebook for news and match day updates.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy
