Westminster Old Scholars Banners - Proud Traditions, Custom Celebrations

The Westminster Old Scholars Football Club has a history of loyal players and dedicated community members. FootyBanners.com helps the Scholars celebrate their finest players with custom banners that match the pride of the club.

Simple to Order

Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banners. Provide the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Andrew Carver, #22, 100 Games. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, your banner will stand up to everything an Adelaide afternoon can deliver.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Westminster Old Scholars players hit the same milestone in the same match, our Two Player banner honours them both. Provide both names and guernsey numbers and we'll create a quality keepsake that the club and their families will be proud to display.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Recognise three to six Scholars at once with a Team Banner - ideal for a milestone round or a club presentation night. Add a personalised top-line message such as "Westminster Old Scholars - Celebrating Our Champions" and a closing tagline to finish it off right.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large and are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Whether they end up on the clubroom wall or in a player's home, these banners make a lasting tribute to any Westminster Old Scholars legend.

Grand Final Banners

For the Westminster Old Scholars' biggest game of the season, our 4.5m and 5.5m Grand Final banners feature fully customisable top and bottom text. Contact us for design guidance and let's build a run-through banner that captures the magnitude of the occasion.

About Westminster Old Scholars Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Westminster Old Scholars Football Club was formed in 1969 and joined the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL) in the same year. In its early seasons the club rose from A4 to A2 in just five years, securing the A3 Grade Premiership in 1973 with a grand final victory over Kilburn. After three seasons in A2, the pressures of careers and families took their toll, and after years battling back through lower divisions the club disbanded at the end of the 1981 season. Nineteen years later, around the year 2000, a group of eighteen and nineteen-year-olds from Westminster School decided to reform the club, with president Richard Bund and vice-president Luke Harris working tirelessly behind the scenes to rebuild the organisation from scratch.

Club History

The reformed club played initially at Colonel Light Gardens before securing tenure at Glandore Oval in 2002, which has been the club's home ever since. The new club achieved immediate on-field success, winning the Division 7 A Grade Premiership in 2000 after a comeback from five goals down with nine minutes remaining, followed by the Division 6 Reserves Premiership in 2001. Further premiership success came in 2008 when the A grade won the Division 6 Grade Premiership with a goal in the final minute. The club's consistent finals appearances across multiple divisions reflect a culture built on resilience. A women's team was welcomed to the club in 2023, led by football director Bek McMahon, and finished fourth in their inaugural season, narrowly missing out at the elimination finals stage.

Home Ground

Westminster Old Scholars play their home games at Glandore Oval in the suburb of Glandore, approximately 5 kilometres south-west of the Adelaide CBD. The club has called Glandore Oval home since 2002, operating the clubrooms, bar, and kitchen as part of its broader community offering. The move to Glandore gave the club a permanent training and playing base and helped cement its identity as a standalone community football club, distinct from but always proud of its connection to Westminster School.

Community and Programs

Westminster Old Scholars fields A, B, and C grade men's teams along with its inaugural women's side, offering a broad community pathway from junior Old Scholars through to senior football. The C grade program, introduced in 2021, has provided more players the chance to participate in competitive football. The club has a strong culture of long-serving members, with milestones such as Andrew McLean's 300-game record celebrated within the club community. The club's strategic plan, launched in 2021, targets growth into Division 1 of the SAAFL.

Glandore

Glandore is an inner southern suburb of Adelaide, located approximately 5 kilometres south-west of the CBD within the City of Marion. It is a quiet, established residential area bordered by Edwardstown, Clarence Park, and Black Forest. The broader southern suburbs corridor is home to a strong amateur football culture, with the SAAFL providing competition for dozens of clubs across the region. Westminster School, the club's founding institution, is located in Marion, around 10 kilometres from Glandore Oval, reflecting how the club has grown well beyond its school roots.

Westminster Old Scholars compete in the SAAFL and call Glandore Oval home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

  • Footy Banner Information

All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using solvent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.

We recommend taping broomsticks to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it.  if you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.

On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
