Yankalilla Tigers Banners - Honouring South Australian Footy Legends
When a Tigers player earns a milestone worth celebrating, FootyBanners.com makes it easy to mark that moment with a quality custom banner. Capture the achievement and present it proudly at Yankalilla's next home game.
Simple to Order
Select your banner type - Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final - then provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone, for example: Tom Richter, #15, 150 Games. All banners are produced with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, ready to stand up on a blazing South Australian afternoon at Memorial Park.
Two Players, One Banner
Two Tigers teammates reaching a milestone in the same game? A Two Player Banner showcases both achievements together on a single banner. Just provide both players' names, numbers, and milestones and we'll create something they'll both be proud to display.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
When a group of 3 to 6 players all hit milestones at the same game, the Team Banner option brings them all together. Add each player's details and a customised top-line message such as "Yankalilla Tigers - Pride of the Fleurieu" to create a banner the whole club will remember.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Available in Small, Medium, and Large, Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper using waterproof inks designed to last. Display one in the Tigers' clubrooms, the garage, or the games room as a permanent reminder of a proud milestone.
Grand Final Banners
Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with fully customised top and bottom text, Grand Final Banners are built for the biggest day on the Yankalilla Tigers calendar. Contact us for design advice and let us help you run the team out in style.
About Yankalilla Football Club
Origins and Founding
Yankalilla Football Club was first formed in 1889, making it one of the oldest football clubs on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula. The club, known as the Tigers, originally competed in the Fleurieu Football Association and won its first A-Grade premiership in 1934. In 1935, Yankalilla joined the Great Southern Football Association, beginning a long association with that competition. The club spent a period in the Southern Football League from 1956 to 1967 before returning to the Great Southern Football League (GSFL), where it has remained ever since.
Club History
Across more than 135 years of football, the Tigers have claimed seven A-Grade premierships: 1934 (Fleurieu Football Association), 1937 (Great Southern Football Association), 1962, 1963, 1969, 1970, and 1985. The 1962 and 1963 back-to-back flags represented a peak era for the club in the Southern Football League competition. The Tigers continue to field both senior and junior teams in the GSFL. The club has produced two VFL/AFL-listed footballers: Kym Koster and Greg Whittlesea, the latter of whom went on to play for Hawthorn and win the Magarey Medal while at Sturt in the SANFL - one of South Australian football's highest individual honours.
Home Ground
The Tigers play at the Yankalilla Memorial Park Sporting Complex, which has served as the club's home ground for the majority of its history. Before this, the club played at the Yankalilla Show Society Ground until 1925. The Memorial Park complex sits in the heart of Yankalilla and is shared with other local sporting organisations, providing the town with a central sporting hub for community events and competition throughout the year.
Community and Programs
Yankalilla FC fields both senior men's teams and junior teams in the GSFL, catering to players of all ages across the Yankalilla district. The club is central to community life on the Western Fleurieu Peninsula and draws its supporter base from Yankalilla township and the surrounding rural areas including Normanville, Myponga, and Second Valley. With more than 130 years of continuous history, the Tigers represent a vital thread of cultural continuity in a small regional community.
Yankalilla
Yankalilla is an agricultural town on the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia, located 72 kilometres south of Adelaide in the Bungala River valley at the foot of the southern Mount Lofty Ranges. With a population of around 795 people recorded in the 2021 Census, the town serves as a service centre for the surrounding farming and grazing district. The area was established in the 1840s and is known for its green, hilly landscape, rural character, and proximity to popular coastal destinations including Normanville and the Victor Harbor region.
The Tigers compete in the Great Southern Football League and call Yankalilla Memorial Park Sporting Complex home. Follow the club on Facebook and Instagram.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
