About Yeronga Devils Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Yeronga South Brisbane Football Club, widely known as the Yeronga Devils, was founded in 1928 in the Brisbane suburb of Yeronga. The club originally wore blue jerseys with a white V and was known simply as the Yeronga Football Club throughout its early years, competing in the Queensland Australian National Football League (QANFL). The club made two QANFL grand finals in the 1930s, losing to Windsor on both occasions in 1932 and 1937. In 1950, the club's board voted to add "South Brisbane" to the club's name to align with the South Brisbane District Cricket Club, which shared the same ground at Fehlberg Park and had the same president, Mr Will Sanders. The combined identity of "Yeronga South Brisbane" has been the club's official name ever since, though Yeronga remains the name most commonly used by supporters and rivals.
Club History
Yeronga South Brisbane competed in various Queensland state football competitions from the late 1940s through the 1950s before eventually settling in the Queensland Football Association (QFA) as their primary competition. The club's most successful modern era came in the 2000s, when the men's team won back-to-back Division One premierships in 2006 and 2007. The women's program has been particularly dominant, with the QAFLW women's team claiming premierships in 2011, 2012, 2017, and 2020, plus runners-up finishes in 2013 and 2016. Notable QAFLW Best and Fairest winners to have played at Yeronga include Emily Bates, who won the award in 2019 and went on to win the AFLW Best and Fairest (Gartlett Medal) while playing for Brisbane Lions. The men's team also won a Division Five flag in 2018 as part of the club's broader program development.
Home Ground
Yeronga South Brisbane Football Club plays its home matches at Leyshon Park in Yeronga, a well-maintained community ground that has served as the club's home base for many decades. Leyshon Park sits within the Yeronga suburb and is shared with other sporting clubs and community activities throughout the year. The ground is close to the Yeronga Memorial Park, which borders the Brisbane River, providing a scenic natural setting for football in the inner southern suburbs of Brisbane.
Community and Programs
Yeronga South Brisbane FC fields senior men's and women's teams in the QFA as well as a comprehensive junior program, providing a full football pathway from grassroots through to senior competition. The club's women's program is one of the most successful in Queensland, having produced multiple state-level and AFLW players. The junior program has long served as the primary feeder into the senior club, with many of the club's most celebrated players having come through the Yeronga system from an early age. The Devils maintain strong ties to the Yeronga and South Brisbane communities, drawing membership from across the inner south of Brisbane.
Yeronga
Yeronga is an inner southern suburb of Brisbane, situated approximately 6 kilometres south of the Brisbane CBD within the Brisbane City Council area. The suburb sits on a bend of the Brisbane River and is characterised by residential streets, significant tree cover, and proximity to the Yeronga Memorial Park along the riverbank. Yeronga is bordered by Annerley, Fairfield, Tarragindi, and Salisbury, and is well-connected to the city via the bus network and the Eleanor Schonell Bridge cycle and pedestrian link to the University of Queensland. The suburb's riverside setting and proximity to the city have made it an increasingly sought-after residential area, with strong community ties maintained through organisations like the Yeronga South Brisbane Football Club.

Footy Banner Information
Material: All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using permanent inks which will not run, even if they get wet. They are fully recyclable.
How to Use: We recommend taping broomsticks or plastic pipe to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. If you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through. There are instructions and images for how to cut these in the FAQ section below.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon! This is why we do not pre-cut them, and also so you can get photographs with your intact banner when it looks at it's best.
Tip: Some players choose to only cut one weak spot in their banner so it can be saved and displayed later by taping it back together on the back.Pro Tip: Cut the weak spot to one side of the mascot or team logo so it stays intact as well!
Return and Refund Policy
