York Roos Footy Banners - Proud Banners for the Heart of the Avon

Whether it's a milestone game, a grand final run, or a player's debut season, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners that capture the pride of the York Roos. Show off your Roos spirit with a personalised banner made to celebrate every occasion.

Simple to Order

Order a Single Player Banner by providing the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jake Cooper, #7, 100 Games. Our banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper, built to handle even a blazing WA afternoon out on the Avon. The Roos work hard for every win - and your banner will be just as tough.

Two Players, One Banner

Recognising two Roos at once? Our Two Player Banner lets you celebrate both players on a single banner - just provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the shared milestone. Great quality, double the occasion.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Unite the whole squad with a Team Banner featuring 3 to 6 players. Customise your top-line message - something like "York Roos - Together We Rise" - and give your team something special to run through. A proud moment for the whole Roos family.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are crafted on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks - perfect for the clubrooms, the garage, or the games room. The ultimate keepsake for any Roos supporter.

Grand Final Banners

Choose from 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with fully customised top and bottom text. If the York Roos are heading into finals, contact us early for personalised design advice so your banner is ready for the big day.

About York Roos Football Club

Origins and Founding

The York Roos Football Club is one of the original founding clubs of the Avon Football Association (AFA), competing in the competition from its formation in 1959. The AFA was created that year through the merger of the East Avon Football Association (EAFA) and the Avon Valley Football Association (AVFA), bringing together clubs from across the Avon Valley region of country Western Australia. York's football history in the Avon Valley predates the AFA, with the club competing in the predecessor AVFA. The Roos have been a constant presence in the association ever since, representing the historic town of York on the sporting stage for more than 65 years.

Club History

The York Roos have won four Avon Football Association premierships, in 1983, 1988, 1993, and 2002. The 1983 and 1988 flags came during a highly competitive period in the AFA's history, while the 1993 and 2002 premierships demonstrated the club's ability to sustain success across different eras. The Roos compete against other AFA clubs including Beverley, Cunderdin, Federals, Kellerberrin-Tammin, Quairading, and Railways - a group of clubs that together represent the deep sporting culture of the Avon Valley wheat belt region. The club also fields a netball program, complementing its football operations and providing a comprehensive sporting home for residents of York and surrounding areas.

Home Ground

The York Roos play and train at Forrest Oval in York. The ground is a well-established country sporting venue and has been the club's home throughout its time in the AFA. Forrest Oval provides facilities for both football and netball, with the club and wider community using the ground for training, matches, and social events throughout the sporting season.

Community and Programs

The York Roos are the heart of the football community in York, providing senior men's and netball programs for the local area. The club plays an important role in maintaining community identity and sporting tradition in a rural town where the football club is one of the principal social institutions. Memberships, sponsorships, and volunteer involvement keep the club running year-round, and annual events like presentation nights and fundraisers are central to town life in York.

York

York is a historic town in Western Australia located approximately 97 kilometres east of Perth, in the Avon Valley region. With a population of approximately 3,500, it is the oldest inland settlement in Western Australia, established in 1831 and named after York in England. The town is renowned for its well-preserved Victorian and Edwardian architecture, and the main Avon Terrace streetscape is heritage-listed. York attracts visitors year-round for its heritage character, annual festivals, and proximity to the Avon River. It falls within the Shire of York local government area.

The York Roos compete in the Avon Football Association and call Forrest Oval home. For more information, visit the York Roos website, follow the club on Facebook, or find them on Instagram.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
