Simple to Order

Our Single Player Banner makes it easy to celebrate any individual milestone. Just provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Danny Ngo, #21, 100 Games - and we take care of the rest. Printed with permanent weatherproof inks on heavy-duty paper, your Lions banner will stand up proudly on even the most sweltering Sydney afternoon at the ground.

Two Players, One Banner

Two Lions players hitting the same milestone on the same day? Our Two Player Banner lets you honour both achievements together on a single quality banner. Supply each player's name and guernsey number and we'll create something the club will be proud of.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Our Team Banner option fits 3 to 6 players into one striking design, perfect for a round where multiple Lions players are hitting milestones at the same time. A bold top-line message like "Go Lions!" gives the banner its roar and turns it into a real game-day highlight.

About Beverley Hills Lions Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Beverley Hills Lions Junior Football Club, formally known as the Beverley Hills Junior Football Club (BHJFC), was established in 1967 following a public meeting called by the Fitzroy Football Club to form the Doncaster and District Junior Football League. At a meeting in December 1967 at the home of John Thompson, and alongside Les Smith and Jim Tonkin, the decision was made to start a club in the East Doncaster area. Les Smith was elected the inaugural president and John Thompson the inaugural secretary. The club took its name from Beverley Hills Primary School in the hope of borrowing jumpers - the arrangement never eventuated, and the club purchased its first set of jumpers in Fitzroy colours a fortnight before its opening game in 1968, fielding Under 12 and Under 14 sides. Beverley Hills was a foundation member of the newly formed junior league and competed from 1968. In 1982, the junior component separated from the senior club, which has since operated independently as the Doncaster East Football Club.

Club History

The BHJFC competes in the Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL), fielding over 300 boys and girls across 15 teams in age groups from Auskick to Under 17 Colts. The club has a remarkable record of producing AFL talent. Notable alumni who progressed to AFL level include Paul Roos (Fitzroy and Sydney Swans), Marc Murphy (Carlton, No.1 draft pick in 2005), Christian Petracca (Melbourne), Blake Hardwick (Hawthorn), Adam Kingsley (Port Adelaide, now coach of GWS Giants), Mark Browning (Sydney), and many others. In 2013, the Beverley Hills Junior Football Club became the first and only YJFL club to achieve Gold Accreditation under the AFL Victoria Quality Club Program - one of just four clubs out of over 1,200 in Victoria to reach that level, the highest awarded. In 2022, the club was named runner-up for the Good Sports National Junior Club of the Year award.

Home Ground

The club plays all home games at Zerbes Reserve, Saxonwood Drive, Doncaster East VIC 3108. The reserve is a shared facility, also home to the Doncaster East Football Club (the senior successors to the original Beverley Hills Football Club) and the East Doncaster Cricket Club. In 1983, all three clubs collaborated to fund and construct major extensions to the pavilion, adding a new change room and social rooms. Further improvements were delivered in 1993 through council works, and a new pavilion was erected in 1995-96 as the club continued to grow.

Community and Programs

The BHJFC hosts a range of community and social programs throughout the year, including monthly family nights designed to bring players, parents and supporters together. The club prioritises positive development both on and off the field, with a stated aim that players leave not just as better footballers but as better people. The club is Kidsport registered and provides programs for all genders and ability levels. The Beverley Hills area contains Beverley Hills Primary School, established in 1959 on Cassowary Street, which has historically been closely linked to the football club since its foundation year.

Doncaster East

Doncaster East is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, located 20 kilometres east of the Melbourne CBD, within the City of Manningham. The suburb had a population of 30,926 at the 2021 Census, spread across 11.4 square kilometres. The area was originally occupied by the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, and European settlement began in the 1860s, with German migrants establishing a settlement known as Waldau Village and planting pine windbreaks that still exist today. Orchards dominated the landscape until the 1960s when residential development began, with the suburb fully established by the 1990s. Notable residents linked to the suburb include AFL players Isaac Quaynor (Collingwood) and former BHJFC graduate Adam Kingsley, now senior coach of the GWS Giants.

The Lions compete in the Yarra Junior Football League and call Zerbes Reserve in Doncaster East home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
