Simple to Order
Our Single Player Banner is the most popular option for junior milestones. Simply provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Hayley Jones, #14, 50 Games - and we'll handle all the design and printing. Made with permanent weatherproof inks on heavy-duty paper, your Suns banner will hold its own under a blazing WA afternoon at the oval.
Two Players, One Banner
Got two Kardinya Suns players reaching the same milestone on the same day? Our Two Player Banner is the perfect way to celebrate both together. Provide the name, guernsey number, and milestone for each player and we'll create a quality keepsake worthy of the moment.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
The Team Banner option fits 3 to 6 players in a single banner design - ideal for junior age group celebrations or end-of-season recognition nights. A bold top-line message like "Go Suns!" ties everything together for a banner the whole club will love.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, printed on thick recyclable paper with long-lasting waterproof inks. A keepsake banner makes a wonderful gift for a junior player, and looks great on the wall of the clubrooms, bedroom, or family home.
Grand Final Banners
When the Kardinya Suns Junior Football Club head into finals, make the occasion count with a custom Grand Final Banner. Our 4.5m and 5.5m options feature fully personalised top and bottom text - get in touch for design advice and we'll help you create the perfect banner.
About Kardinya Suns Junior Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Kardinya Junior Football Club was established in 1979, making it one of the longer-running junior Australian rules clubs in Perth's southern suburbs. The club was originally sponsored by Tom Piper and known in its early years as the Kardy Kats. It was founded at Morris Buzacott Reserve in Kardinya - the same year the reserve gained its name in honour of Morris Nutter Buzacott, a former Melville Roads Board member. From the outset, the club operated within the South Fremantle metropolitan district of the WAFL.
Club History
In 2019, coinciding with the club's 40th anniversary, the Kardinya Junior Football Club entered a formal affiliation with the AFL's Gold Coast Suns, rebranding as the Kardinya Suns JFC. The partnership provides players with skill development resources, merchandise support, and coaching insights direct from the AFL club. Kardinya Suns players form the guard of honour at Optus Stadium each season when the Gold Coast Suns play in Perth, and the club has hosted open training sessions when the AFL squad visits Western Australia. The club has built a strong track record in recent years, winning Club of the Year in the South Fremantle Junior Football League in 2023, 2024, and 2025 - three consecutive awards reflecting the club's growth in both participation and standards.
Home Ground
The Kardinya Suns train and play home games at Alan Edwards Reserve on Gillett Drive, Kardinya, with club administration based at Morris Buzacott Reserve on Prescott Drive. Morris Buzacott Reserve covers approximately 20 hectares in the north-eastern quadrant of Kardinya and has been a hub of community sport since the late 1970s. The Kardinya Junior Football Club was among the first clubs to use the reserve when it was established in 1979, alongside the Applecross Hockey Club and the Kardinya Tennis Club. The club played a key role in lobbying the City of Melville for a community centre at the reserve, which was finally approved in 1985, completed in 1986, and officially opened on 27 June 1987. The club also maintains a long-term relationship with Fremantle CBC Amateur Football Club, which relocated to Morris Buzacott Reserve in 1994, creating a pathway for junior players to continue in senior football.
Community and Programs
The Kardinya Suns run programs from Auskick through to youth age groups for both boys and girls. The Auskick program covers pre-primary to Year 2 students on Sunday mornings at the home ground, using accredited coaches focused on fun and positive behaviour. Junior programs continue through years 3 to 12, with the girls program beginning at the Year 5-6 level. From under-14 level, players have access to WAFL and AFL development pathways, with the club aligned with South Fremantle, East Fremantle, Perth, and Peel at the WAFL level. The club is registered with Kidsport, allowing families to access government-funded participation vouchers. With one of the lowest membership fees in the South Fremantle District competition, the Kardinya Suns are committed to keeping the game accessible for all families.
Kardinya
Kardinya is a residential suburb situated 13 kilometres south-southwest of the Perth central business district, within the City of Melville local government area. The suburb covers 4.38 square kilometres and had a population of 9,137 at the 2021 Census. The name "Kardinya" is of Aboriginal origin - some sources say it means "sunrise," while others say it means "place of the Karda (racehorse goanna)." The suburb was formally gazetted on 16 June 1961 and developed primarily between 1967 and the early 1980s. Much of the land was previously part of the Somerville Pine Plantation, established in 1926 on land originally set aside for the University of Western Australia. Key amenities include Kardinya Park Shopping Centre, North Lake Senior Campus, Kardinya Primary School, and Morris Buzacott Reserve. The suburb is well-connected by Transperth bus services linking to Murdoch Station on the Mandurah rail line.
The Suns compete in the South Fremantle Junior Football League and call Alan Edwards Reserve home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
