At FootyBanners.com, we specialise in custom footy banners that celebrate the milestones and moments that make club footy so special. Order a banner for your North Sunshine Road Runners player today and give them the recognition they deserve on the day it matters most.
Simple to Order
Our Single Player Banner is the most popular choice for personal milestone celebrations. Just provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Sam Davis, #11, 100 Games - and we'll handle the rest. Printed with permanent weatherproof inks on heavy-duty paper, your banner will hold up through even the most bitter Melbourne winter day at the ground.
Two Players, One Banner
Got two Road Runners players hitting the same games milestone? Our Two Player Banner is the ideal way to celebrate both together. Simply supply each player's name and guernsey number and we'll produce a quality two-player banner that does the occasion justice.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
The Team Banner option fits 3 to 6 players in a single banner design - great for recognising multiple milestones at once or celebrating a standout team effort. A bold top-line message like "Go Road Runners!" ties it all together beautifully.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners are available in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks designed to last. Perfect for the clubrooms, games room, or garage - a lasting reminder of what it means to be a Road Runner.
Grand Final Banners
When the North Sunshine Road Runners are heading into a big final, make it count with a custom Grand Final Banner. We offer 4.5m and 5.5m options with fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us for design advice and we'll help you create something special.
About North Sunshine Road Runners
Origins and Founding
The North Sunshine Road Runners Football Club was established in 1967 as the Crossroads Football Club, founded as a junior-only club in the Melbourne suburb of Sunshine North. As documented by the Sunshine Historical Society, the club began at Dempster Park on Phoenix Street, North Sunshine, and fielded Under 9, Under 11, and Under 13 sides in its inaugural year. The name Crossroads - and the Roadrunners nickname - reflected the club's location at the intersection of the North Sunshine community. Over the following years the club expanded to include an Under 15 and Under 17 side, before adding a senior team for the first time in 1979.
Club History
According to the club's Wikipedia profile, North Sunshine has competed in the Western Region Football League since 1967. The club added a reserve grade in 1994, and the expanded playing structure delivered quick results - the senior side won a division Grand Final in 1986, followed by the Reserves winning their Grand Final in 2000, and the seniors again in 2003. In 1990 a third senior side was fielded, and a Superules team followed in 1991. The Roadrunners joined the Western Football League upon its formation and have continued to compete. In 2025, as reported by Star Weekly, the club made the deliberate decision to step back to the thirds competition to rebuild its playing list and club culture for the longer term.
Home Ground
The North Sunshine Road Runners play their home games at Dempster Park on Phoenix Street in Sunshine North (also known as North Sunshine), Western suburbs of Melbourne. Dempster Park has been the club's home since 1967 and serves as the base for both junior and senior programs. The ground is located within the City of Brimbank local government area, which encompasses Sunshine, Sunshine North, Sunshine West, and surrounding suburbs.
Community and Programs
North Sunshine Road Runners operates across both junior and senior football, continuing a tradition of community sport that stretches back to the club's founding in 1967. The junior program provides a development pathway for young players in Sunshine North and surrounds, while the senior club competes in the Western Football League. The club also has links to female football, with growth in girls and women's participation reflecting wider trends in the region.
Sunshine North and Brimbank
Sunshine North is a suburb in Melbourne's western metropolitan area, located approximately 12 kilometres west of the CBD within the City of Brimbank. Brimbank is one of Melbourne's most culturally diverse municipalities, home to around 200,000 residents. The suburb was part of the broader Sunshine area that grew rapidly during Melbourne's post-World War Two industrial expansion, and it retains a strong working-class and multicultural community identity. Dempster Park and the North Sunshine Road Runners have been part of the social fabric of this community for nearly six decades.
The Road Runners compete in the Western Football League and call Dempster Park on Phoenix Street, Sunshine North home. Follow them on Facebook for match updates and club news.

Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
