Fitzroy Roys Junior Football Club Banners - Celebrate Every Milestone in Style
Whether it's a 50-game milestone or a hard-fought finals campaign, FootyBanners.com has the perfect custom banner to honour your Roys player. From junior age groups right through to the senior grades, we create banners that capture the pride and passion of North Fitzroy footy.
Simple to Order
Our Single Player Banner is the go-to choice for personal milestone celebrations. Just provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jamie Brown, #7, 100 Games - and we take care of the rest. Printed with permanent weatherproof inks on heavy-duty paper, your banner will hold up through even a bitter Melbourne winter day at W.T. Peterson Oval.
Two Players, One Banner
Celebrating two players reaching the same milestone? Our Two Player Banner lets you honour both at once. Simply supply each player's name, guernsey number, and shared milestone, and we'll create a quality banner worthy of the occasion.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
The Team Banner option covers 3 to 6 players in a single design - perfect for celebrating a batch of junior milestones together. A top-line message such as "Go Roys!" brings the whole banner together, and the result is a keepsake the whole club will be proud of.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks built to last. Hang yours in the clubrooms, garage, or games room as a lasting tribute to your favourite Roy.
Grand Final Banners
When the Fitzroy Roys Junior Football Club runs out for a big final, make sure they do it in style. We offer 4.5m and 5.5m Grand Final Banners with fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us for design advice and we'll help you get it right.
About Fitzroy Roys Junior Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Fitzroy Junior Football Club (FJFC) was established in 1993, growing out of football clinics that the senior Fitzroy Football Club had been running at the Edinburgh Gardens back oval for several years prior. In its inaugural 1993 season the club fielded a single Under 11 team - even though most players were under 10 or under 9 - and kicked just 1 goal 4 behinds across the entire year. The club joined the Hawthorn District Junior Football League, which has since been renamed the Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL). The senior Fitzroy Football Club donated the first set of jumpers, and the junior club has carried the famous Roys identity ever since.
Club History
From those humble beginnings, the FJFC has grown into one of the most prominent junior clubs in inner-Melbourne. The club competes in the Yarra Junior Football League and fields teams across a wide range of age groups, from the youngest junior divisions through to youth and youth girls. A girls football program has been a feature of the club for many years, reflecting the growth of women's football across Victoria. Since 2011, the FJFC has honoured Indigenous Round each season by awarding the Joe Johnson Medal - named after Joe Johnson, who on 7 May 1904 became the first known Aboriginal player to appear in a VFL match, playing for the Fitzroy Football Club and going on to play 55 games in total. The medal is awarded each Indigenous Round to a player from every FJFC team who best demonstrates the five attributes of Endurance, Tenacity, Courage, Wisdom, and Kindness.
Home Ground
As a co-tenant at the historic Brunswick Street Oval in Fitzroy North, the FJFC shares the home of the senior Fitzroy Football Club, which has competed in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) since 1955. The FJFC uses six ground locations across the City of Yarra for training and match play: W.T. Peterson Community Oval on Brunswick Street, Cox Oval and Alfred Crescent Oval at Yarra Bend in Fairfield, Olney Oval and Ramsden Street Reserve in Clifton Hill, and Victoria Park in Abbotsford - the former home of the Collingwood Football Club.
Community and Programs
The FJFC is deeply embedded in the community life of inner-Melbourne's northern suburbs, attracting families from Fitzroy, Fitzroy North, Collingwood, Abbotsford, Clifton Hill, and the broader City of Yarra. The club runs both boys and girls teams across multiple age groups, with the girls program continuing to expand each year in line with the rapid growth of female participation in Australian rules football. The club's Indigenous Round celebration, built around the Joe Johnson Medal, has become one of its most distinctive annual traditions and is used as a tool for education, reconciliation, and celebration of Aboriginal contributions to football.
Fitzroy North and the City of Yarra
Fitzroy North is a suburb immediately north of Fitzroy, located approximately 4 kilometres north of Melbourne's CBD within the City of Yarra local government area. The area is known for its Victorian-era terraces, Edinburgh Gardens - one of Melbourne's most popular inner-city parks - and a strong community culture. Fitzroy more broadly is one of Melbourne's most historically significant inner suburbs, home to the old Brunswick Street Oval which has hosted football since the 19th century and remains central to the Fitzroy community's sporting identity.
The Roys compete in the Yarra Junior Football League and call Brunswick Street Oval and the City of Yarra's ground network home. Visit the club website for news, fixtures, and registration details, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for match-day updates and club news.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
