Canada Bay Cannons Banners - Fire Up the Inner West

Whether it is a milestone game, an age-group premiership, or a season to remember, FootyBanners.com has the perfect banner for the Cannons faithful. From Drummoyne Oval to St Lukes Oval, mark every special moment with a custom Canada Bay Cannons banner your player will treasure for life.

Simple to Order

Ordering a Single Player banner is easy - just tell us the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and the milestone being celebrated, for example: Jake Wilson, #9, 100 Games. Banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper that can handle a sun-drenched Sydney afternoon without missing a beat. Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner styles to suit the occasion.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Cannons hit the same milestone on the same match day, our Two Player banner is the perfect way to celebrate both. Simply provide each player's name, guernsey number, and milestone and we will create a quality banner that puts them side by side where they belong.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

For squad milestones and group achievements, the Team Banner option covers 3 to 6 players in one design. Add a standout top-line message - something like "Cannons U14 Girls 2025 Premiers" - and a closing tagline that captures everything the team has earned together.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks built to last for years. Hang one in the clubrooms, at home, or in the garage as a lasting reminder of what it means to wear the Cannons guernsey. They make a great gift for any dedicated player or supporter.

Grand Final Banners

Give the Canada Bay Cannons Football Club the grand final run-through they deserve with a full-size banner available in 4.5m and 5.5m. Both sizes feature fully customised top and bottom text - contact us for design advice and we will make sure every detail is right before the big day.

About Canada Bay Cannons Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Canada Bay Cannons Football Club was established in 2013 as a formal alliance between two neighbouring inner-west clubs - Drummoyne Power Junior AFL, which was founded in October 1998, and the Concord Giants Football Club (previously the Concord Cats, established in 2005). The alliance was created to pool the resources of both clubs and increase playing opportunities for youth AFL across the Canada Bay local government area. The name "Canada Bay Cannons" reflects the local government area in which both clubs are based - the City of Canada Bay in Sydney's inner west.

Club History

The alliance grew rapidly after its formation. By 2016, the Canada Bay Cannons were fielding seven teams from Under 12 to Under 17, and that same year four of those seven teams reached their respective grand finals. The first Cannons premiership was won in 2016 by the Under 12 Division 2 side - a significant milestone in the club's short history. The club competes under the AFL NSW/ACT banner through AFL Sydney Juniors, running teams for boys from Under 11 to Under 17 and girls from Under 9 to Under 17. The Cannons have established a strong reputation as a pathway club, with former players Bailey Lambert (Frankston VFL), Fraser Phillips (Carlton VFL), and Joshua Lee (GWS VFL) all going on to play at that level, while former Cannons Scott Hansford, Harrison Hansford, and Nick Ford have become VFL-listed umpires. Players are also regularly accepted into the Sydney Swans Academy and GWS Giants Academy talent development programs.

Home Ground

The Canada Bay Cannons train and play out of two grounds in the inner west. Drummoyne Oval, located on Bayswater Street in Drummoyne, serves as a key training and match venue, while St Lukes Oval in Concord - redeveloped from 2016 as a purpose-built AFL precinct - is shared between the Cannons, Concord Giants, and Drummoyne Power. Five Dock Park is also used for matches. The multi-ground setup reflects the alliance structure of the club and ensures teams across all age groups have access to quality facilities.

Community and Programs

The Canada Bay Cannons are a parent-led, volunteer-run community club that welcomes players of all backgrounds and ability levels. The club places particular emphasis on AFL pathways - not just for players but also for umpires, coaches, and sports administrators. Girls' teams have been a growing part of the club's program, with the Cannons fielding girls' sides from Under 9 to Under 17 and producing players who have gone on to represent at Sydney AFL Premier Division level. The club maintains strong ties with its community sponsors, including Club Five Dock RSL.

Canada Bay and Sydney's Inner West

The City of Canada Bay is a local government area in Sydney's inner west, covering suburbs including Drummoyne, Concord, Five Dock, Rhodes, Abbotsford, and Chiswick. The area sits approximately 11 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD and is bounded by the Parramatta River to the north and east. Its name honours the link between Australia and Canada - following the Lower Canada Rebellion of 1837-1838, French Canadian rebels were deported to the area and held at Longbottom Stockade (now the site of Concord Oval). The City of Canada Bay was formed in December 2000 through the merger of the former Concord and Drummoyne councils. Today it is a diverse, family-oriented community with a proud sporting culture.

The Cannons compete in the AFL NSW/ACT competition through AFL Sydney Juniors and play home games at Drummoyne Oval and St Lukes Oval, Concord. Visit the club website for registration and news, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for match day updates and highlights.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
