About Casey Thunder Football Club
Origins and Founding
Casey Thunder Football Club was established in 2019 in Cranbourne East, Victoria, with a founding mission to create a women's football club built by women, for women. From its very first season, the club set out to provide female footballers in the City of Casey with a genuine pathway to play competitive Australian rules football in a supportive, inclusive environment. The club is based at Cranbourne East and is affiliated with the Southern Football Netball League.
Club History
In just a few years of competition, Casey Thunder has established itself as one of the standout clubs in the women's game in Melbourne's south-east. The club achieved a landmark result by winning the Division One premiership in 2023, a major milestone in such a short history and a testament to the calibre of players and coaching the club has attracted since its founding. As a listed club in the Southern Football Netball League, the Thunder continue to build on that success each season.
Home Ground
Casey Thunder are based at facilities in Cranbourne East, a rapidly growing suburb on the southern fringe of Melbourne in the City of Casey. The club's home ground provides a quality setting for training and match days, and the Thunder community has embraced it as a hub for the club's growing membership.
