Avenel Swans Banners - Kyabram District Footy, Celebrated Right

With roots stretching back to the late 1800s, the Avenel Football Netball Club is one of Victoria's most historic community clubs, and FootyBanners.com is proud to help the Swans mark every milestone with a custom banner that honours that remarkable history.

Simple to Order

Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options and provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone (for example, Will Barker, #3, 100 Games). Your banner is printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty paper built for a cold Victorian afternoon at the Avenel Recreation Reserve.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Swans players reach the same milestone on the same day, our Two Player banner puts them both in the spotlight together. Supply both players' names and guernsey numbers and we'll take care of the design.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Celebrating 3 to 6 players at once? Our Team Banner option covers the whole group in one strong design. Set a top-line message like "Fly Swans Fly!" and give your squad a run-through to remember for years to come.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are produced on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. A beautiful addition to the Swans clubrooms at the Recreation Reserve or a home display celebrating a great Avenel career.

About Avenel Swans FNC

Origins and Founding

The Avenel Football Netball Club was founded in 1881, making it one of the oldest football clubs in regional Victoria. Established in the small town of Avenel in the Shire of Strathbogie, the club has been a cornerstone of community life in the district for well over 140 years. Known as the Swans and playing to the club song "See the Swans Fly Up!", the club competes in the Kyabram and District Football League, which covers a wide area of northern Victoria similar in geography to the Goulburn Valley and Picola and District Football Leagues.

Club History

Across more than 140 years of competition, the Avenel Swans have claimed 15 premierships, with their earliest flag won in 1898. The club enjoyed a particularly strong period in the late 19th and early 20th century, winning premierships in 1898, 1900, 1901, 1903, 1905, 1906, 1921, 1922, and 1933. A second wave of success came in the late 20th century with flags in 1978, 1979, 1984, 1985, 1989, and 1994. The club competes across Senior and Reserve grade divisions in the Kyabram and District Football League alongside a netball arm, reflecting the longstanding tradition in country Victoria of combining football and netball under the one club banner. During the 2023 season the club finished 7th in the home-and-away competition, with Dylan Hoysted leading the goalkicking with 45 goals.

Home Ground

The Avenel Swans play their home matches at the Avenel Community Centre oval, which has a listed capacity of 5,000. The ground sits in the heart of Avenel township and serves as a central venue for both the football and netball sides throughout the season. Like many country grounds in regional Victoria, the Avenel venue doubles as a community hub for local events beyond match days.

Community and Programs

The Avenel Football Netball Club is described on its official website as "the place to find all your local football and netball club information", reflecting the central role it plays in the town of Avenel and the wider district. The club runs both football and netball programs for players of all ages, from junior development through to senior competition. It maintains active social media engagement and club events to involve sponsors, players, and the broader community throughout the year. The 2026 season marks another chapter in a club history stretching back to the 19th century.

Avenel

Avenel is a town in the Shire of Strathbogie in north-central Victoria, Australia, located approximately 129 kilometres north of Melbourne and 21 kilometres north of Seymour. At the 2021 census, Avenel had a population of 1,112 people, representing steady growth from 728 in 2006. The town sits in the Hume region, close to the Hume Highway corridor, and is part of the broader Goulburn Valley agricultural area known for cattle grazing, viticulture, and mixed farming. Avenel is perhaps best known as the town where the Kelly gang reportedly rode through during the bushranger era, and the Royal Mail Hotel built in 1847 remains a local heritage landmark. The town falls within the federal division of Nicholls and the state electorate of Euroa.

The Swans compete in the Kyabram and District Football League and call the Avenel Community Centre oval home. Visit the club website for more information and follow them on Facebook for news and match day updates.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
