Curra Swans Football Banners - Celebrate Every Swans Milestone

From a player's milestone game to a grand final celebration, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners for the Curra Swans that capture the spirit and pride of this great community club. Whatever the occasion, let's help you celebrate it right.

Simple to Order

Order a Single Player Banner by providing the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Liam Foster, #8, 100 Games. Our banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper built to hold up through a sweltering Queensland afternoon at the ground. Durable, vibrant, and made to last.

Two Players, One Banner

Honouring two Swans at once? Our Two Player Banner lets you celebrate both players on a single premium banner - just provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the milestone they're being recognised for. Double the celebration, same great quality.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Bring the whole squad together with a Team Banner featuring 3 to 6 players. Set a top-line message like "Curra Swans - Soaring Together" and give your team something to run through with pride. Perfect for a memorable season or a big finals campaign.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks - perfect for the clubrooms, the shed, or the games room. A permanent reminder of what the Swans mean to you and your community.

Grand Final Banners

Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us early for personalised design advice when the Curra Swans are heading into finals.

About Curra Swans Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Curra Swans Football Club was formed in 1989 through the amalgamation of two longstanding Townsville clubs - the Townsville Swans (formerly South Townsville, a foundation club of the Townsville Football League dating to 1954) and Currajong (which entered the competition in 1961). By the late 1980s, economic pressures on the Townsville Swans made the merger the logical path forward. Pioneers Jim Muldoon, Eric Johns and Graham Nicol were central to establishing the new club, and their legacies remain embedded in Curra Swans culture today - Muldoon's name lives on in the club's home ground oval.

Club History

After forming in 1989, the Curra Swans quickly established themselves as one of AFL Townsville's premier clubs. The club reached the pinnacle of the competition in 1996, 1997 and 1998, claiming three consecutive A-grade premierships. A further senior men's premiership followed in 2020, cementing the Swans' status as one of North Queensland's most successful clubs across multiple decades. The club fields senior men's, senior women's and junior teams, with the women's side winning a historic AFL Townsville premiership in 2021. The Curra Swans are a regular ANZAC Day fixture host, underscoring the club's deep community standing in Townsville.

Home Ground

The Curra Swans play their home games at Muldoon Oval within the Murray Sporting Complex in Annandale, Townsville. The oval is named in honour of life member Jim Muldoon, one of the club's founding figures. The Murray Sporting Complex is a well-equipped multi-sport precinct that accommodates the club's seniors, women's and junior football programs throughout the season.

Community and Programs

Curra Swans caters for players of all ages and skill levels, running senior men's, senior women's and junior football competitions. The club is community-driven and committed to developing players through its junior pathways, with the AFL Townsville competition providing a structured pathway for talented Townsville players. The Swans are active across social media and maintain a strong presence in the local Townsville sporting community, hosting club events and engaging members throughout the year.

Annandale, Townsville

Annandale is a south-western suburb of Townsville in the City of Townsville, Queensland. The suburb recorded a population of 8,376 at the 2021 census, growing to an estimated 10,004 by late 2025, reflecting sustained residential growth. Annandale developed primarily from the 1980s and 1990s onward as a residential area serving Lavarack Barracks and James Cook University, and today sits within one of North Queensland's largest cities - Townsville, located approximately 1,350 kilometres north of Brisbane.

The Swans compete in AFL Townsville and call Muldoon Oval at the Murray Sporting Complex home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
