About Springwood Pumas Australian Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Springwood Pumas Australian Football Club was founded in 1972 as a junior football club in the Logan region of South East Queensland. The first senior team made its debut in 1979, initially wearing orange and black and playing in the South Queensland Amateur Football Association (SQAFA). In 1992 the club was invited to join the QAFL Under-19s competition, entering as the Logan Pumas in the blue and yellow of the Logan City Council - a change that eventually spread to the full club. The club has grown steadily since those early days into one of the most comprehensive community football clubs in Queensland's Logan corridor.

Club History
The Springwood Pumas have accumulated an impressive premiership record across multiple grades and age groups. Senior highlights include a 1989 SQAFA Seniors Division 2 flag, back-to-back QAFL Premier League Senior and Reserves Division 1 premierships in 2002, and QFA South Senior premierships in 2014 and 2015. Junior and youth programs have contributed flags in 1991, 1993, 1994, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2009, 2010, and 2012. The 2002 double, winning both senior and reserves flags, stands as one of the club's greatest seasons. More recently the club has established a strong women's program, reflecting the growing participation of women in Queensland football.

Home Ground
The Springwood Pumas play home games at Lowe Oval on Sports Drive, Underwood, Queensland - accessed from the road entrance behind Logan North Library. Lowe Oval serves as the base for all of the club's senior, youth, junior, and Auskick programs. The facility reflects the Logan City Council's investment in sport and community infrastructure across the region, and has become a familiar gathering point for the Springwood football community on weekends throughout the season.

Community and Programs
The Pumas run one of the most complete community football programs in South East Queensland, offering pathways from Auskick (the national entry program) through Superkick, junior competition, youth teams, seniors, and a Masters Over-30s program. The women's program has grown in recent years, adding another dimension to a club that prides itself on catering to all ages and abilities. The club relies heavily on volunteers, parents, and the support of local businesses through sponsorship, which has sustained decades of continuous community football in the Springwood area.

Underwood and Springwood
Underwood is a suburb in the City of Logan, located approximately 17 kilometres south-east of the Brisbane CBD. The suburb sits within a rapidly growing residential and commercial corridor and is home to Logan North Library and several major sporting facilities. Springwood, the club's namesake suburb, adjoins Underwood to the south and is one of Logan's major commercial centres, known for its Springwood Mall and Logan Entertainment Centre. The broader Logan region is home to a diverse, family-oriented population that has embraced Australian football as a central community sport over the past four decades.
