Recognise a milestone moment for your Bulldog with a custom footy banner from FootyBanners.com. Whether it's a 50-game achievement or a landmark century, a personalised Thuringowa Bulldogs banner makes the occasion truly special.

Simple to Order

Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banners. For player banners, simply provide the name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jake Williams, #18, 100 Games. Banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built to handle a blazing North Queensland afternoon at Riverway Oval.

Two Players, One Banner

Celebrating the same milestone with a teammate? Our Two Player banner lets you honour both Bulldogs on the same run-through. Both players must share the same milestone, and you'll provide both names and guernsey numbers. A quality keepsake the pair will treasure.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Bring the squad together with a Team Banner featuring 3-6 players. Customise the top-line message - something like "Thuringowa Bulldogs - Finals Bound!" - and celebrate the season with a banner your whole club will love. Go Bulldogs!

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Perfect for hanging in the clubrooms, a garage, or the games room - a lasting tribute to your Bulldog's journey with the Thuringowa Bulldogs.

About Thuringowa Bulldogs Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Thuringowa Bulldogs Football Club was established in 1970 as the West Townsville Football Club, making it one of the founding forces in the Townsville and North Queensland football scene. The club drew its early membership from the western suburbs of Townsville, competing in what would become the AFL Townsville competition from the outset. For more than three decades the club was known as West Townsville, building a substantial premiership record and a loyal supporter base in the rapidly growing northern Queensland city before rebranding as the Thuringowa Bulldogs in 2002 to reflect the expanding Thuringowa City Council area on Townsville's western fringe.

Club History

The Bulldogs have established themselves as one of the most successful clubs in the history of AFL Townsville, with their premiership roll dating back to 1971. Their major titles include the 1971, 1980, 1987-88, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1999, 2000, and 2001 premierships under the West Townsville banner, followed by further flags in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2022, and 2023 as Thuringowa. The 2010 premiership was particularly significant as it marked the club's first senior title in nearly a decade. The back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011 launched a renewed era of dominance that has continued into the 2020s, with the Bulldogs claiming back-to-back flags again in 2022 and 2023 to confirm their standing as a powerhouse of North Queensland football. The club competes in the AFL Townsville competition.

Home Ground

The Thuringowa Bulldogs play their home matches in the Kirwan area of Townsville, North Queensland. Townsville's AFL competition utilises venues across the broader urban area including Riverway Stadium, a premier multi-sport facility located in Thuringowa Central that opened in 2010. The Riverway precinct represents the heart of community sport in the Thuringowa area and has provided the Bulldogs with a high-quality environment for both training and competition in recent seasons.

Community and Programs

The Thuringowa Bulldogs are a family-orientated club at their core, dedicated to providing Australian rules football opportunities for players of all ages in Townsville's western suburbs. The club fields men's senior and reserves teams as well as junior sides, offering a full development pathway from Auskick through to senior competition. This community-first approach has been central to the club's ethos since its founding in 1970 and remains a defining feature of life at Thuringowa. The club is actively involved in community activities and seeks to strengthen football culture in the Thuringowa district.

Thuringowa

Thuringowa is a western district of Townsville, the largest city in North Queensland and the second-largest city in Queensland with a population exceeding 230,000 people. Originally a separate local government area known as Thuringowa City, the area amalgamated with the City of Townsville in 2008. The district encompasses suburbs including Kirwan, Idalia, and Rasmussen, and has experienced significant residential growth since the 1980s. Townsville's tropical climate, with a distinct wet season from November to April, is characteristic of the North Queensland region and provides a backdrop unlike any other Australian football environment.

  • Footy Banner Information

Material:  All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using permanent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.  They are fully recyclable.

How to Use:  We recommend taping broomsticks or plastic pipe to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it.  If you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.  There are instructions and images for how to cut these in the FAQ section below.

On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!  This is why we do not pre-cut them, and also so you can get photographs with your intact banner when it looks at it's best.

Tip: Some players choose to only cut one weak spot in their banner so it can be saved and displayed later by taping it back together on the back.

Pro Tip:  Cut the weak spot to one side of the mascot or team logo so it stays intact as well!

  • Return and Refund Policy
