About Jimboomba Redbacks Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Jimboomba Redbacks Australian Football Club has its origins as the Southern Redbacks AFC, a club that served the outer southern corridor of Brisbane for many years. In April 2010, the club was renamed the Jimboomba Redbacks to better reflect its home community, coinciding with a major upgrade to its facilities. The club now operates from a purpose-built complex on Henderson Road, Jimboomba, featuring two full-size AFL fields - a significant investment in community football infrastructure for the growing Logan-area region south of Brisbane.
Club History
The Redbacks compete in the Queensland Football Association (QFA) Division 3 South competition, the second-tier community football structure operated by AFL Queensland. The club caters for a wide range of players - from juniors aged five through to senior men's and women's teams, and a Masters program for players aged 35 and over. The Redbacks' range of pathways reflects the club's commitment to lifelong participation in Australian rules football across the Jimboomba and surrounding communities. The QFA has been the backbone of community football in Queensland since the competition's inception, and the Redbacks have been a part of that growth story in the outer south-east corridor.
Home Ground
The Jimboomba Redbacks play at their home complex on Henderson Road, Jimboomba - a facility that was completed in 2010 with two full-size AFL ovals. The grounds are purpose-built for AFL and represent a commitment to creating quality community sport facilities in a rapidly growing residential area. Jimboomba's location within the Logan City council area means the club draws players from Jimboomba, Greenbank, Undullah, and the surrounding communities on Brisbane's outer south-eastern fringe.
Community and Programs
From Auskick and junior teams through to senior, women's, and Masters football, the Redbacks offer one of the most comprehensive participation structures in south-east Queensland's outer suburbs. The club's youth program takes players from early childhood through to the senior ranks, giving Jimboomba families a local football pathway at every age. The Masters program has also been an important part of the club's offering, keeping older players connected to the game in a competitive but relaxed environment.
Jimboomba
Jimboomba is a semi-rural suburb and township located approximately 40 kilometres south of Brisbane's CBD, within the Logan City local government area. Set in the rolling hills of the outer south-east Queensland countryside, the area is known for its mix of rural residential blocks and growing suburban development. The region has experienced rapid population growth over recent years as families seek space and community outside the inner Brisbane ring, making grass-roots clubs like the Redbacks an important anchor for the local community.
The Redbacks compete in the Queensland Football Association (QFA) Division 3 South and call Henderson Road, Jimboomba home. Follow the Jimboomba Redbacks on Facebook for training schedules, match news, and club updates throughout the Queensland football season.
Footy Banner Information
Material: All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using permanent inks which will not run, even if they get wet. They are fully recyclable.
How to Use: We recommend taping broomsticks or plastic pipe to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. If you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through. There are instructions and images for how to cut these in the FAQ section below.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon! This is why we do not pre-cut them, and also so you can get photographs with your intact banner when it looks at it's best.
Tip: Some players choose to only cut one weak spot in their banner so it can be saved and displayed later by taping it back together on the back.Pro Tip: Cut the weak spot to one side of the mascot or team logo so it stays intact as well!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
