Maroochydore Roos Banners - Sunshine Coast Football Celebrations Done Right

From milestone games to end-of-season tributes on the Sunshine Coast, FootyBanners.com crafts custom banners that capture what the Roos mean to their community. Order a personalised banner and give your player a send-off they'll never forget.

Simple to Order

Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner styles. For a player banner, simply provide the name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Tom Walsh, #11, 200 Games. All banners use permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper built to stand up to a sweltering Queensland afternoon at the footy.

Two Players, One Banner

If two Roos players share the same milestone on game day, a Two Player Banner is the way to go. Provide both names and guernsey numbers and we'll produce a quality dual banner that gets the crowd talking.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

For 3 to 6 players reaching milestones together, our Team Banner is the standout choice. Feature a top-line message like "Go Roos!" and name every player being celebrated. A brilliant option for a special round or club presentation night.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks that won't fade over time. Hang a Roos keepsake in the clubrooms, garage, or games room and relive the best moments from the season.

Grand Final Banners

Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with fully customised top and bottom text, our Grand Final Banners are made for the biggest moments in the QAFL calendar. Contact us for design advice and let us help Maroochydore Roos Football Club make their mark on grand final day.

About Maroochydore Roos Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Maroochydore Australian Football Club was founded in 1969 and is one of the founding clubs of organised Australian rules football on the Sunshine Coast. The club is based at Maroochydore in Queensland and entered competition in the Sunshine Coast Australian Football League when that competition launched in 1970. Other foundation clubs alongside Maroochydore were Noosa and Nambour, forming the cornerstone of the Sunshine Coast game.

Club History

The Maroochydore Roos have accumulated an impressive premiership tally across multiple eras. The club claimed 11 Sunshine Coast AFL titles (1970, 1971, 1972, 1974, 1978, 1979, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1989), four Brisbane AFL premierships (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996), and back-to-back QFA Division 1 titles in 2017 and 2018. The Women's team won the QWAFA premiership in 2016. When the senior club briefly folded at the end of 1999, many players joined the Northern Eagles before the Roos reformed. In 2004 the club merged with North Shore Jets to form Maroochy Northshore, but in 2011 voted to de-amalgamate and re-establish as the Maroochydore Roos. The men's senior side has competed in the QAFL since 2020. The club has produced a remarkable list of AFL and AFLW alumni, including Josh Drummond (Brisbane Lions, 2005-2012), Noah Cumberland (Richmond, 2020-2024), Carter Michael (Brisbane Lions, 2022-2024), Ty Gallop (Brisbane Lions, 2025-present), and AFLW stars Shannon Campbell, Belle Dawes, Lily Postlethwaite, Kate Surman, and many others.

Home Ground

The Roos play their home matches at the Maroochydore Multisports Complex, a purpose-built facility with a capacity of 5,000 spectators located in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast. The complex supports multiple sports and provides modern facilities for the club's League, Women's, and junior programs.

Community and Programs

The Maroochydore Roos field men's QAFL and women's QAFLW senior sides, along with a junior development program through affiliated Sunshine Coast competitions. The club is strongly connected to the Sunshine Coast community and has a proud tradition of developing players who progress to elite state and national competitions.

Maroochydore

Maroochydore is the commercial heart of the Sunshine Coast, a rapidly growing coastal city located approximately 100 kilometres north of Brisbane, Queensland. With a population of over 25,000 residents, Maroochydore serves as the administrative hub of the Sunshine Coast Council region and is home to the Sunshine Coast Stadium, Sunshine Plaza, and a thriving retail and business precinct. The suburb's coastal setting and vibrant community make it a natural home for the Roos.

The Roos compete in the QAFL and call the Maroochydore Multisports Complex home. Visit the club website, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
