Lara Cats Banners - Honour Every Cats Milestone
From a player's first milestone to premiership celebrations on the Bellarine Peninsula, FootyBanners.com is proud to support Lara Cats supporters with custom banners that capture every big moment. Our banners are built for the Cats faithful - families, players, and supporters who live and breathe Lara football.
Simple to Order
Select from a Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final Banner. For individual milestone banners, provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and achievement - for example, Dan Edwards, #15, 100 Games. Banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper, designed to handle any blustery Geelong winter afternoon on the Lara sideline.
Two Players, One Banner
Two Cats players hitting the same milestone on match day? Our Two Player Banner gives them both the recognition they deserve on a single, quality banner. Both players must share the same milestone, and you'll need each player's name and guernsey number to place your order.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Bring the whole club together with a Team Banner featuring 3 to 6 players. Add a powerful top-line message like "Cats - Geelong District Premiers" and make the occasion one the club will never forget. Perfect for milestone rounds and finals celebrations.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Whether it's the Lara clubrooms, your garage, or the games room at home - a keepsake banner is the perfect way to remember a standout moment as a Lara Cat.
Grand Final Banners
When the Lara Cats run out for the grand final, the banner needs to be up to the moment. Grand Final Banners come in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us for design advice and we'll make sure it's everything the Cats deserve.
About Lara Sporting Club
Origins and Founding
The Lara Sporting Club, known as the Cats, was founded in 1880 - making it one of Victoria's oldest continually operating football clubs. Based in the town of Lara on the main Geelong rail line between Geelong and Werribee, the club has competed across a succession of regional football associations throughout its history, including the Geelong Football Association, Werribee Lara Football Association, Geelong Athletic Societies League, and Werribee District Football League, before settling into the Geelong and District Football League from 1947. In 1975, the football club and the cricket section merged to formally create the Lara Sporting Club, which today encompasses football, netball, baseball, and cricket.
Club History
The Cats have claimed 10 senior football premierships across their history: 1912, 1929, 1930, 1937, 1952, 1965, 1986, 1988, 1994, and 2002. Their back-to-back premierships in 1986 and 1988 represented a standout era for the club. After two premierships in three years, Lara moved to the Geelong Football League (GFL) in 1989, where they competed until that league was absorbed into the Geelong Football Netball League (GFNL) in 2015. The club has produced several VFL/AFL players, including Allen Christensen (Geelong and Brisbane Lions), Josh Walker (Geelong and Brisbane Lions), and Devon Smith (Greater Western Sydney and Essendon).
Home Ground
The Cats play at Lara Recreation Reserve, which has served as the club's home base for the majority of its history. Located in the heart of Lara township, the Reserve provides facilities for football and netball throughout the season, and is one of the focal points for community sport in the town. The ground is shared across the Lara Sporting Club's multiple sections and serves as a community hub throughout the year.
Community and Programs
The Lara Sporting Club fields senior men's and women's football teams, junior football, and a netball program through the GFNL. The club's multi-sport structure gives members the opportunity to participate in football, netball, cricket, and baseball under one community umbrella. Junior development programs connect Auskick participants from local primary schools through to under-18 teams competing in the Geelong region.
Lara
Lara is a suburb and town in the City of Greater Geelong, Victoria, located approximately 22 kilometres north of the Geelong CBD and 54 kilometres south-west of Melbourne. With a population of around 15,000 people as of the 2021 Census, Lara has grown substantially in recent decades as part of the broader Geelong growth corridor. The town sits between the shores of Corio Bay to the west and the You Yangs regional park to the east, giving it a distinctive natural setting.
The Cats compete in the Geelong Football Netball League and call Lara Recreation Reserve home. Visit larasportingclub.com.au and follow the club on Facebook.

-
This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.
-
-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
