Latrobe Demons Banners - Honouring the Pride of North-West Tassie
When a Latrobe Demons player reaches a career milestone, a custom banner from FootyBanners.com is the perfect way to mark the occasion. From game milestones to grand final appearances, we'll create a personalised Demons banner that your club will treasure for years to come.
Simple to Order
Ordering your Demons banner is easy. Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options. Simply supply the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Tom Parker, #14, 200 Games. Every banner is printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built tough enough to handle a bitter Tasmanian winter on game day.
Two Players, One Banner
If two Demons players share a milestone in the same round, our Two Player Banner celebrates them together. Provide both names and guernsey numbers, and we'll craft one quality banner honouring both players side by side.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
For group milestones involving 3 to 6 players, the Team Banner option lets you celebrate the whole group at once. A punchy top-line message like "DEMONS - HEART OF LATROBE" brings everyone together, rounded off with a club closing tagline that captures the Demons spirit.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, produced on thick recyclable paper using waterproof inks that hold their quality over time. Display your Demons banner in the clubrooms, a games room, or a garage to keep the memories of great Latrobe seasons alive.
Grand Final Banners
When the Demons make it to finals, let them run out in style. Our Grand Final Banners are available in 4.5m and 5.5m widths, with fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us for personalised design advice ahead of the big day for the Latrobe Football Club.
About Latrobe Demons Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Latrobe Football Club was founded on 19 June 1881, making it one of the oldest football clubs in Tasmania and among the most venerable in Australian rules football. The club was initially known as the "Diehards" and played local football in the Latrobe district before joining the North West Football Association (NWFA) in 1894. After a dispute with the NWFA executive, Latrobe helped establish the North West Football League (NWFL) in 1909, which transformed into the North West Football Union (NWFU) in 1910. The club won local competition premierships in 1891 and 1892, and a NWFA premiership in 1907, before entering the NWFU era. Full club history and records are documented on the Latrobe Football Club Wikipedia page.
Club History
Latrobe is one of the most successful clubs in Tasmanian football history, having claimed 19 premierships across all competitions. As a foundation member of the NWFU in 1910, the club was premiers in just its fourth NWFU season. A golden era in the 1920s and early 1930s produced premierships in 1913, 1920, 1922, 1924, 1926, 1930, 1931, and 1933. Their tally of 12 NWFU premierships is a joint record shared with Burnie and Ulverstone.
The club's most celebrated chapter came under captain-coach Darrel Baldock, who led Latrobe to four consecutive NWFU premierships from 1969 to 1972 - the only club in NWFU history to achieve that feat. The 1970 side also won the Tasmanian State Premiership, defeating Clarence by 35 points at Devonport Oval. Baldock was selected All Australian in 1961 and the club's home ground was renamed Darrel Baldock Oval in his honour. After a 38-year premiership drought, Latrobe won the NTFL premiership in 2010, then added further titles in 2011, 2013, and 2016. In 2013, Latrobe became the first Tasmanian club outside of the State League to be inducted into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame. Rod Butler holds the club record for most games played, appearing 324 times for the Demons.
Home Ground
The Demons play at the Latrobe Recreation Ground, known as Darrel Baldock Oval, on Gilbert Street in Latrobe, Tasmania. The ground has a capacity of approximately 9,000 spectators and serves as a multi-purpose venue for the broader Latrobe community, also hosting the Latrobe Bicycle Race Club, Latrobe Cricket Club, and Latrobe Federal Band. The ground's name honours the club's greatest ever player and coach, Darrel Baldock. The club's postal address is PO Box 80, Latrobe, Tasmania 7307.
Community and Programs
The Latrobe Football Club is a cornerstone of social and community life on Tasmania's North-West Coast. The club competes in the North West Football League (NWFL) alongside seven other clubs including Burnie Dockers, Devonport Magpies, and Wynyard Cats. The club supports women's football through the NWFL's women's competition, with the Latrobe Demons women's side competing in the league. The club's Facebook page provides regular match reports, news, and community updates for supporters across the North-West Coast region.
Latrobe, Tasmania
Latrobe is a town of approximately 4,000 residents on the North-West Coast of Tasmania, situated a few kilometres south of Devonport - the port town where the Spirit of Tasmania ferry arrives. The town sits in the Latrobe Council area and is known for its historic streetscape and the annual Henley-on-the-Mersey river carnival. The broader North-West Coast region is Tasmania's agricultural heartland, known for dairy farming, vegetable growing, and food processing industries.
The Demons compete in the North West Football League and call Darrel Baldock Oval home. Visit the club's official page on the NWFL website for fixtures and club information. Follow the club on Facebook for the latest Demons news and match day updates.

Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
