Whether it's a 50-game milestone or a grand final triumph, FootyBanners.com creates stunning custom banners for the Eagles that your player will be proud to run through. From junior debuts to senior milestones, every Eagles achievement deserves a banner worthy of the occasion.
Simple to Order
Ordering your Maiden Gully YCW Eagles banner is quick and straightforward. Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner styles. For player banners, simply provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jack Turner, #12, 100 Games. All banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built to withstand a blustery Melbourne winter or a baking Bendigo afternoon on the oval.
Two Players, One Banner
Celebrating two Eagles reaching the same milestone? Our Two Player Banner is perfect for the occasion. Simply provide both players' names and guernsey numbers - the same game milestone is required for both - and we'll produce a quality banner that honours both achievements together.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Our Team Banner option covers 3 to 6 players in one go - ideal for a club champion award night or a group milestone round. The top-line message can be something like "Maiden Gully YCW Eagles - Season Award Winners" to make it a truly memorable keepsake for every player on it. A great way to celebrate what the Eagles have achieved together.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks, making them perfect for hanging in the clubrooms, the garage, or the games room at home. Every Eagles fan will love having a personalised piece of their footy journey on the wall for years to come.
Grand Final Banners
Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes, our Grand Final Banners can be fully customised with your chosen top and bottom text to suit the Maiden Gully YCW Eagles' big day. Contact us for design advice so your banner looks brilliant as the team runs through it.
About Maiden Gully YCW Eagles Football Netball Club
Origins and Founding
The Maiden Gully YCW Football Netball Club, nicknamed the Eagles, traces its roots to 1945 when the YCW Football Club (Bendigo) was established under the Young Catholic Workers movement in Bendigo, central Victoria. The club wasted no time making its mark, claiming its first senior football premiership in 1947 in the then-active Bendigo Football Association - just two years after formation. Two further premierships followed in 1949 and 1951 before the club joined the Golden City Football League in 1960.
Club History
The YCW Football Club accumulated a remarkable 12 senior football premierships across four competitions spanning 1945 to 2002, including titles in 1947, 1949, 1951, 1954, 1959, 1961, 1970, 1982, 1987, 1997, 2001 and 2002. The club's peak was a golden era from 1996 to 2002, during which YCW played in seven consecutive senior grand finals, winning in 1997, 2001 and 2002. After joining the Loddon Valley Football Netball League (LVFNL) in 1985, the club became one of the competition's most consistent performers.
In 2017 the YCW Football Club merged with the Maiden Gully Lions Junior Football Club to form the Maiden Gully YCW Football Netball Club, creating a pathway from under-9s junior football through to senior competition under one banner. The Eagles now field teams across both the LVFNL and the Bendigo Junior Football League (BJFL). In recent junior seasons the club has been highly competitive, with BJFL premiership wins at U14 level in 2019, 2022 and 2023, U12 titles in 2024 and 2025, and a Thirds premiership in 2025. The A-Grade netball program has been similarly strong, with 11 premierships including the 2023 flag.
Home Ground
The Eagles play out of Marist College in Maiden Gully, a modern $8,000,000 sports facility that became the club's home from the start of the 2017 season. The move to Marist College coincided with the merger and rebrand to Maiden Gully YCW, providing state-of-the-art facilities including fully equipped rooms, a separate bar, and capacity for up to 120 guests - making it one of the finest community club venues in regional Victoria.
Community and Programs
The Eagles run junior football teams in the BJFL from under-9s through to under-18s, giving every young player in the Maiden Gully and broader Bendigo district a clear pathway through the club's system. The club also runs a strong netball program across multiple grades in the LVFNL, including A, B, C, C-Reserve, 17-and-under and 15-and-under teams. In recognition of its community health approach, the club holds Good Sports Level 2 Accreditation - a national standard recognising clubs that promote responsible alcohol use and provide a safe, family-friendly environment.
Maiden Gully
Maiden Gully is a residential suburb located approximately 7 kilometres west of Bendigo's central business district along the Calder Highway. Part of the City of Greater Bendigo local government area, Maiden Gully has grown significantly in recent decades as Bendigo expanded westward, making it one of the city's fastest-growing outer suburbs. The area is known for its proximity to quality schools including Marist College, and for its tight community feel that has made clubs like the Eagles central to local life. Bendigo itself is the major regional city of central Victoria, approximately 150 kilometres north of Melbourne.
The Eagles compete in the Loddon Valley Football Netball League (LVFNL) and the Bendigo Junior Football League, and call Marist College, Maiden Gully home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
