St Marys Greensborough Burras Banners - Celebrate Every Milestone in Burra Style

Whether it's a first game, a big milestone, or a season worth remembering, FootyBanners.com has you covered with fully custom banners for every Burras player. Show your pride with a banner that carries the heart of Greensborough footy - and makes the moment truly unforgettable.

Simple to Order

Select a Single Player Banner to honour an individual Burras player on their special day. Just provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jake Turner, #11, 50 Games. Your banner is printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built to handle even the blustery Melbourne winter conditions on match day. Place your order online in minutes and let us handle the rest.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Burras players share the same milestone game, our Two Player Banner is the perfect way to celebrate together. Simply provide both players' names and guernsey numbers, and we'll create a quality banner that honours both achievements side by side on the one banner.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Got a group of 3 to 6 players all hitting a milestone at once? Our Team Banner option lets you pack all those names onto one impressive banner. Try a top-line message like "Go Burras!" to rally the whole club behind your players. A great way to celebrate a standout season or a bunch of milestone games at the same time.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks built to last. Perfect for hanging in the clubrooms, the garage, or the games room at home - a Burras keepsake that will bring a smile every time it's seen.

Grand Final Banners

When St Marys Greensborough Burras Junior Football Club makes it to the big day, make sure you run through a banner worthy of the occasion. We offer 4.5m and 5.5m Grand Final Banners with fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us for personalised design advice - we love helping clubs get this one right.

About St Marys Greensborough Burras Junior Football Club

Origins and Founding

St Marys Greensborough Junior Football Club was established in 1973 in Greensborough, north-east of Melbourne. The club competed in the Doncaster and Districts Junior Football League (DDJFL) before becoming a foundation club of the Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL) in 1997, when the DDJFL merged with the Hawthorn Districts Junior Football League to form Australia's largest junior football competition. The club adopted the nickname "Burras" and has carried it ever since.

Club History

The Burras have spent more than five decades developing junior footballers in Greensborough. Their success in nurturing talent led directly to the formation of the St Mary's Senior Football and Netball Club in 2008, after concerns that junior players weren't continuing to senior football. The senior club joined the Northern Football Netball League (NFNL) in January 2009, with the Burras serving as its primary feeder. Among the club's most notable alumni is AFLW pioneer Brooke Lochland, who played juniors at St Marys before going on to be drafted by the Western Bulldogs in 2016, win an AFLW premiership in 2018, earn All Australian honours and the leading goalkicker award that same year, and later become the inaugural co-captain of the Sydney Swans AFLW program.

Home Ground

The Burras play at Whatmough Park in Greensborough, named after Robert Whatmough, a Charteris lieutenant who established an orchard in the area in 1842. The club previously played at Ford Park and Kelynack Reserve before Whatmough Park became its permanent home in 2011. Ongoing works to improve the roof structure and stairs at the ground reflect the club's continued investment in the facility.

Community and Programs

St Marys Greensborough JFC offers programs from Auskick and Superkick through to Under 17.5, for both boys and girls. The junior club works closely with St Mary's Senior Football and Netball Club, giving players a direct pathway to senior football within the St Mary's family. The club is known for its welcoming, family-oriented culture and strong volunteer base.

Greensborough

Greensborough is a suburb of Melbourne located 17 kilometres north-east of the CBD, within the City of Banyule and Shire of Nillumbik. At the 2021 census, Greensborough recorded a population of 21,070. Named after settler Edward Bernard Green who purchased the land in 1841, the suburb borders the Plenty River and the Yarra Valley corridor. Community sport has been a fixture here since the Diamond Valley Football Association was formed in 1922.

The Burras compete in the Yarra Junior Football League and call Whatmough Park, Greensborough home. Visit the club website for registrations and news, follow them on Facebook for match day updates, and follow them on Instagram for photos and content from the Burras.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
