Sunshine Roos Banners - Celebrate Your Roos in Style
From debut day to milestone games and grand final entrances, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners that do justice to Sunshine Roos players and the moments they've earned. Celebrate your champion with a banner that matches the occasion.
Simple to Order
We offer Single Player, Two Player, Team, and Grand Final banner options. To personalise your order, provide the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jake Burrows, #19, 100 Games. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, your banner is built tough for a cold Melbourne winter morning at the ground.
Two Players, One Banner
Got two Roos hitting the same milestone? A Two Player Banner is the perfect way to celebrate them both on one quality keepsake. Provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the shared milestone for a banner they will both be proud to display.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Feature 3 to 6 players on a Team Banner and create a game day moment the whole club will remember. A top-line message like "Go Roos!" captures the spirit of a team that plays with passion week in and week out.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks that stand the test of time. A Sunshine Roos keepsake banner is a proud addition to the clubrooms, the garage, or the family games room.
Grand Final Banners
Make grand final day unforgettable for the Sunshine Roos with a 4.5m or 5.5m banner featuring fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us and our team will help you design something the whole club will love.
About Sunshine Roos
Origins and Founding
The Sunshine Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos (and often referred to as the Roos), was formed as the Sunshine YCW Football Club in 1959, initially as a junior club. The club entered its first open age senior competition in 1963, joining the YCW National Football Association. Playing out of Kinder Smith Reserve in Braybrook, the club won its first B Grade open age premiership in 1966 and claimed the YCW NFA A Grade flag in 1976. At the end of the 2000 season the club dropped "YCW" from its title, becoming the Sunshine Football Club.
Club History
After winning three premierships in the YCW NFA, the club transferred to the Footscray Districts Football League - now the Western Football Netball League (WFNL) - in 1978, competing at the Division 1 level. The club was relegated to Division 2 after finishing last in Division 1, but was promoted back to Division 1 in 1996 after losing back-to-back A2 Grand Finals in 1994 and 1995. The Roos have remained in Division 1 of the WFNL ever since. In 2024, the senior men's side won the club's first WFNL premiership, a landmark achievement. The Reserves side also produced notable results across the decades, including a Division 1 Reserves premiership in 2001.
Home Ground
The club is based at Kinder Smith Reserve on Lily Street, Braybrook, which has served as the club's home since its early years. The ground is shared with the club's women's, reserves, and junior sides, as well as the Sunshine Netball program, making it a busy community sporting hub in Melbourne's western suburbs.
Community and Programs
The Sunshine Kangaroos Football Netball Club operates men's, women's, and junior programs under the one umbrella. A women's football team - the Sunshine Spurs - was entered in the Victorian Women's Football League, using Kinder Smith Reserve as its home base. The junior netball and football programs cater to children across a range of age groups. The club has a long-serving volunteer base, with Michael Huxtable becoming the first player to reach 300 games for the club, illustrating the deep loyalty Sunshine inspires in its membership.
Braybrook
Braybrook is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, located approximately 9 kilometres west of the Melbourne CBD within the City of Maribyrnong. It recorded a population of 9,682 at the 2021 census. Primarily an industrial suburb, Braybrook sits midway between the former councils of Footscray and Sunshine, in the heart of Melbourne's historically working-class western suburbs. The area has seen increasing residential growth and investment in recent years as Melbourne's west expands.
The Sunshine Roos compete in the Western Football Netball League and call Kinder Smith Reserve, Braybrook, home. For more information visit the official website, or follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
