About Wyndhamvale Falcons Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Wyndhamvale Football Club was established in 1976 as the Windermere Sports Club, formed in the expanding Werribee suburb then known as "Windermere". When the suburb was renamed Wyndham Vale in 1977 - due to a naming conflict with an existing Windermere suburb near Ballarat - the club eventually took on the Wyndhamvale identity that it carries today. Initially a junior football club entering teams in the Western Suburban Football League (WSFL), the club earned its first-ever premiership with the Under 10s team in their first year of competition. The club operated for many years from a basic facility known as "the tin shed" at Honour Avenue Reserve, until the local council constructed new social rooms in the mid-1980s.
The Falcons first entered senior football in 1985, fielding a side in the Reserve Division of the WSFL. After stints in the Geelong and District Football League (1987-1988) and the Footscray District Football League (from 1989), the club went into recess from 1995 to 1998 before returning in 1999 to the Western Region Football League (WRFL) Division 2, where they remain today as part of the Western Football Netball League.

Club History
The Falcons have built a strong record across all grades since returning to competition in 1999. The Senior men's side reached back-to-back Preliminary Finals in 2011 and 2012, and in 2015 won the WRFL Division 2 premiership, defeating West Footscray 17.12 (114) to 10.5 (65). That success earned promotion to WRFL Division 1 for the 2016 to 2018 seasons. After returning to Division 2, the Seniors won the 2019 minor premiership and reached the Grand Final before falling short against Yarraville.
The Reserves side won the Division 2 Reserves premiership in both 2014 and 2022, with the 2022 flag secured from 4th position, defeating Parkside 12.19 (81) to 9.5 (59). The club has also been a trailblazer in female football - in 2005 Wyndhamvale fielded a team in the first ever Victorian Under 18 Youth Girls competition and took home the premiership, following it up with back-to-back flags in 2006. The WRFL Women's side reached a Minor Premiership and Grand Final in 2023. In the juniors, the Under 14s won the premiership in 2019.

Home Ground
The Falcons play their home games at Wyndham Vale South Reserve, located at 120 Black Forest Road, Wyndham Vale VIC 3024. The ground has been the club's base since the club's return to competition and serves as the central hub for all of the club's football and netball activities across junior, senior, and women's programs.

Community and Programs
The Wyndhamvale Football Club runs an active junior football program, Auskick sessions for young players, and a netball arm that competes alongside the football teams. The club also entered a Men's Thirds side for the first time in 2023, competing in the RDFNL Club 18s competition. With Wyndham Vale situated in one of Victoria's highest-growth corridors, the club has ambitions to grow its programs and become a major force in the WRFL in coming years.

Wyndham Vale is a suburb in the City of Wyndham, approximately 35 kilometres south-west of Melbourne's central business district. Part of Melbourne's rapidly expanding outer south-west growth corridor, Wyndham Vale has grown substantially since the 2000s and is home to a large and diverse community of families drawn to the area's new estates, schools, and sporting facilities.
