📝 How to Order Your Personalised Wynnum Vikings Footy Banner
Ordering your Wynnum Vikings milestone football banner is easy. First, choose your size and type—Small, Medium, Large, Team, or Grand Final. Enter the player’s first name, last name, and guernsey number (for example, Michael Smith, #23), and specify the milestone games being celebrated, like a 150-Game milestone.
Our heavy-duty paper and permanent inks ensure your custom footy banner will look sharp and stay strong in rain, wind, or sunshine.
If you’re ordering a two-player football banner, both players must share the same milestone. Enter both names and guernsey numbers, and we’ll print an affordable, high-quality two-player milestone banner for the Wynnum Vikings Football Club.
For Team banners showcasing three to six players, select the Team Banner option. List up to six player names. We’ll optimise the layout for a premium group AFL footy banner that highlights all your milestone achievers.
If you’d like a custom team banner with a slogan, simply add your top text (such as "Great Team Effort This Year!") and a bottom tagline. We'll design a team footy banner that captures the true spirit of the Wynnum Vikings Football Club.
We also offer wall keepsake banners, available in Small, Medium, or Large. These scaled-down versions of your AFL run-through banner are printed on thick, recyclable paper with waterproof inks—perfect for displaying at home, in the games room, shed, or the clubrooms.
Finally, for the ultimate celebration, order a Grand Final banner. Choose from a 4.5 metre or a massive 5.5 metre size, with fully custom top and bottom text. Contact us for bespoke design advice, and celebrate with a Grand Final footy banner that makes your Wynnum Vikings Football Club stand out on the biggest day of the season.
About Wynnum Vikings
Origins and Founding
Australian rules football in Wynnum dates back to 1905, when the first Wynnum Football Club competed in the Queensland Football League (QFL). That original club, nicknamed the Tricolours (blue, red, and white), merged with the Gordon club around 1910 to become Wynnum Gordon Football Club, and won QFL premierships in 1909 and 1920 before disbanding. The modern Wynnum Vikings AFL Club was officially established in 1971, competing in the South Queensland Amateur Football Association (SQAFA). The club adopted the Vikings nickname and has built a strong local following in Brisbane's bayside suburbs ever since.
Club History
The Wynnum Vikings won their first flag in 1974, shortly after their establishment. The club competed in the SQAFA through an era when crosstown rival Sherwood dominated the competition. Following demotion to Division 2 in 1992, the Vikings rebuilt and won the Division 2 premiership in 2003, earning promotion. They then back-to-backed Division 1 premierships in 2008 and 2009, cementing their status as one of Queensland's stronger community clubs. Competition restructuring in 2012 placed the Vikings in the South East Queensland AFL (SEQAFL) and the club currently plays in the Queensland Football Association (QFA) Division 2. The club's 100-year history was commemorated in a Collector's Edition publication tracking football in Wynnum from 1905 through to the modern era.
Home Ground
The Vikings are based at 300 Kianawah Road, Wynnum West, Queensland. The ground serves as the home of both senior and junior programs, and is located in the Wynnum-Manly district on Brisbane's bayside. The facility hosts regular community events and is a central hub for Australian rules football in eastern Brisbane.
Community and Programs
The Wynnum Vikings run an extensive community program including senior men's and women's teams, junior football for all age groups from Auskick through to Under 18s, and an over-35s competition. The Vikings pride themselves on their blue-collar, community-oriented culture, drawing from the working-class and coastal suburban character of the Wynnum-Manly district. The club has grown into one of the largest AFL clubs in the greater Brisbane east area and maintains strong participation numbers across all age groups.
Wynnum
Wynnum is a seaside suburb of Brisbane located approximately 20 kilometres east of the Brisbane CBD, on Moreton Bay. The suburb is the commercial heart of the broader Wynnum-Manly district, which encompasses several bayside communities. Wynnum has a strong maritime and fishing heritage, with its foreshore featuring parkland, a wading pool, and an esplanade popular for walking and recreation. The area is home to a large working-class and family community and has experienced significant residential growth in recent decades.
The Vikings compete in the QFA Division 2 and call Wynnum West home. Find out more at wynnumvikingsafl.com.au or facebook.com/wynnumvikingsafl.
