Ardrossan Roos Banners - Celebrating Yorke Peninsula Footy
From milestone games to grand final glory, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners that celebrate every Ardrossan Roos player with the pride they deserve. Give your champion a run-through as special as the moment itself.
Simple to Order
We offer Single Player, Two Player, Team, and Grand Final banner options. To personalise your order, provide the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Sam White, #7, 100 Games. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, your banner is built to handle a blazing SA afternoon on the Yorke Peninsula without any fuss.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Roos hit the same milestone, a Two Player Banner is the ideal way to celebrate them both. Provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the shared milestone for a quality keepsake they will both treasure.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Feature 3 to 6 players on a Team Banner and create a game day moment the whole town will be talking about. A top-line message like "Go Roos!" captures the spirit of a club that is at the heart of Ardrossan's community.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks that last for years. An Ardrossan Roos keepsake banner is a wonderful addition to the clubrooms, the garage, or the family games room.
Grand Final Banners
Make grand final day at Ardrossan one to remember with a 4.5m or 5.5m banner featuring fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us for personalised design advice and let's make the big day unforgettable for the Ardrossan Roos.
About Ardrossan Roos
Origins and Founding
The Ardrossan Football Club was founded in 1904 in the coastal town of Ardrossan on the eastern side of South Australia's Yorke Peninsula. The club has competed in the Yorke Peninsula Football League (YPFL) and its predecessor competitions throughout its history, playing under the nickname "Roos". The club is one of the smaller clubs in the YPFL by town size but has built a reputation well beyond its numbers through sustained on-field success.
Club History
Ardrossan is particularly celebrated for a golden era in the 1960s and 1970s when the club appeared in 11 consecutive senior grand finals. Premierships were claimed in 1965, 1967, 1968, 1970, 1971, 1972 (including three consecutive W.K. Grundy Shield victories), 1974, 1989, and 2004. The club has produced notable VFL/AFL talent, including Sam Jacobs, who went on to play for the Adelaide Crows, and Caleb Poulter, who played for Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs. The Roos have maintained their independence throughout their history, resisting amalgamation despite the challenges that face rural clubs. For 2026 the club fielded an A Grade side only, reflecting the player challenges faced by small-town clubs across regional South Australia.
Home Ground
The Roos play at Ardrossan Oval, located at 1 Maitland Road, Ardrossan. The ground overlooks the Yorke Peninsula landscape and has been the club's home venue throughout its existence. It is used across all grades and age groups during the YPFL season and serves as a social centre for the Ardrossan community on match days.
Community and Programs
The Ardrossan Football Club operates alongside the Ardrossan Netball Club, with both organisations sharing facilities and membership at Ardrossan Oval. The club runs junior and senior programs across multiple age groups each season. Ardrossan has a strong volunteer and social tradition, regularly holding premiership reunions for its decorated teams of the 1960s and 1970s, celebrating the legacy of those sides with the broader community.
Ardrossan
Ardrossan is a town on the eastern coast of the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, approximately 150 kilometres by road from the Adelaide city centre. The town is notable for its deepwater shipping port and its towering red clay coastal cliffs. The traditional owners of the land are the Narungga people, who inhabited the Yorke Peninsula prior to European settlement in the 1850s. Ardrossan serves as a service town for the surrounding cereal-farming and grazing district and draws visitors for its coastal scenery and heritage.
The Ardrossan Roos compete in the Yorke Peninsula Football League and call Ardrossan Oval home. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
