About Armstrong Creek Sharks Football Netball Club

Origins and Founding

The Armstrong Creek Sharks Football Netball Club was founded in 2018 by a small group of local community members who wanted to create a positive environment where boys and girls could represent their suburb in the sport of AFL. The club grew directly out of the Armstrong Creek Auskick program, which had been operating for two years prior to the club's formation and had attracted more than 60 junior registrations. From its first season in 2019, the club entered teams at the under-9s, under-11s and under-13s levels, establishing itself as the primary junior football and netball pathway for the fast-growing Armstrong Creek community.

Club History

The Armstrong Creek Sharks compete in AFL Barwon's Geelong and District Football Netball League (FNL), the regional competition that covers the greater Geelong area. In only a few short years of existence, the club has expanded its teams across multiple junior age groups for both boys and girls, as well as fielding netball teams. In 2024 the club celebrated a landmark moment when it recorded the first football premiership in the Sharks' history, with the achievement drawing strong community support and recognition across the Armstrong Creek area.

Home Ground

The Sharks call the Warralily Oval on Central Boulevard, Armstrong Creek, their home. The oval is part of the Warralily estate, one of the major residential developments that has driven the suburb's rapid population growth. When the club was founded in 2018, the new facilities at this ground represented a significant benefit, providing modern playing surfaces and infrastructure for a club that was starting entirely from scratch.

Community and Programs

The Armstrong Creek Sharks operate both football and netball programs, providing a dual-sport pathway for families in the community. The club's football teams cater to multiple age groups from Auskick through to under-18s, while the netball section fields teams in Netball Victoria's Barwon region competitions. With more than 1,600 followers on their Facebook page, the Sharks have built a strong community identity in a relatively short time, reflecting the enthusiasm of a rapidly growing suburb for its local sporting club.

Armstrong Creek

Armstrong Creek is one of the fastest-growing suburbs in Victoria, located approximately 10 kilometres south-east of the Geelong CBD in the City of Greater Geelong. The 2021 census recorded a population of approximately 11,247 residents, with estimates for 2024 placing the figure above 24,000 as new estates have continued to open. The suburb is characterised by new residential developments, modern community facilities, and a young demographic profile, making it fertile ground for newly established community sports clubs like the Sharks.

The Sharks compete in the Geelong and District FNL and call Warralily Oval, Armstrong Creek home. Visit the club at armstrongcreekfc.com.au and follow on Facebook.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
