When the Doncaster Junior teams make it to the grand final, the day deserves to be marked properly. Our grand final banners are made for the biggest junior game of the year and give every young player a send-off they will remember for a very long time.
About Doncaster Junior Football Club
Origins and Founding
Doncaster Junior Football Club was formed in 1968 as a founding member of the Doncaster Districts Junior Football League. Based in the leafy suburb of Doncaster in Melbourne's eastern corridor, the club has provided development and recreational opportunities to thousands of children over more than five decades, with some alumni going on to play at AFL level. The club's motto - "Where Friendships Begin!" - reflects a philosophy built around participation, inclusion, and community rather than simply winning.
Club History
From its founding in 1968, Doncaster Junior FC grew with the expanding eastern suburbs of Melbourne and became one of the anchor clubs of junior football in the Manningham area. The club now competes in the Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL), which was formed from the consolidation of several eastern suburban junior competitions. The DJFC runs competitive programs on Sundays for boys and girls aged from 7 up to 17, fielding multiple age-group teams across the season. The club gained Level 2 Good Sports accreditation through the Australian Drug Foundation program in 2005, recognising its commitment to a safe and responsible club environment. It is also an AFL-accredited Kids First club.
Home Ground
Doncaster Junior FC plays its home matches at Zerbes Reserve in Doncaster. The club maintains a close relationship with the senior Doncaster Football Club - founded in 1902 and competing in the Eastern Football Netball League (EFNL) - sharing the ground, clubrooms, and some training sessions at Zerbes Reserve. This connection gives junior players a clear pathway to senior football within the same community precinct.
Community and Programs
The club runs a well-established Auskick program on Saturday mornings for primary school-aged children, providing a non-competitive introduction to Australian rules football. It has developed close links with nearby local schools, offering after-school football clinics on request. The club caters for both boys and girls from age 7 upwards, making it one of the more inclusive junior clubs in the area. The focus is firmly on learning, growing, and enjoying team sport, with the club's family-friendly culture described as one of its greatest strengths.
Doncaster
Doncaster is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, located approximately 15 kilometres east of the Central Business District within the City of Manningham local government area. The suburb recorded a population of 25,020 at the 2021 census and is characterised by low-density residential housing, the prominent Doncaster Hill, and the large Westfield Doncaster shopping centre. The area has a strong community sport culture, with Australian rules football remaining one of the most popular winter sports among Doncaster families.
Doncaster Junior FC compete in the Yarra Junior Football League and call Zerbes Reserve home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.
Footy Banner Information
Material: All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using permanent inks which will not run, even if they get wet. They are fully recyclable.
How to Use: We recommend taping broomsticks or plastic pipe to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. If you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through. There are instructions and images for how to cut these in the FAQ section below.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon! This is why we do not pre-cut them, and also so you can get photographs with your intact banner when it looks at it's best.
Tip: Some players choose to only cut one weak spot in their banner so it can be saved and displayed later by taping it back together on the back.Pro Tip: Cut the weak spot to one side of the mascot or team logo so it stays intact as well!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
