About Lindenow Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Lindenow Football Club is one of the historic clubs of East Gippsland, Victoria, with records of the club's existence dating to 1894. Situated in the small township of Lindenow in the Mitchell River valley, the club has been a constant presence in community life across the region for more than 130 years. The club celebrated its centenary in 1994, marking over a century of unbroken involvement in Australian rules football in the Gippsland hinterland. Lindenow Football Club is affiliated with both football and netball programs, as is common with country Victorian clubs, providing a comprehensive sporting offering for the local community throughout the winter season.
Club History
Lindenow has competed across various iterations of Gippsland football over its long history, ultimately finding its home in the East Gippsland Football Netball League (EGFNL). The EGFNL encompasses clubs from across the East Gippsland region and represents the primary senior competition for communities from Bairnsdale east to the New South Wales border. Lindenow has claimed multiple premierships across football and netball over the decades, reinforcing its standing as one of the competition's more consistent clubs. The 1980 premiership was a notable achievement for the club, and the team has continued to feature in finals contention in various years since joining the East Gippsland league structure.
Home Ground
Lindenow FC plays its home matches at Lindenow Recreation Reserve, a well-maintained community ground in the township of Lindenow in the Mitchell River valley. The Reserve provides oval facilities for both football and other community activities and is central to the social fabric of the Lindenow township. The ground is set against the rich agricultural landscape of the Mitchell River floodplain, one of East Gippsland's most productive farming areas, and is typical of the well-kept community reserves that characterise country Victorian football clubs.
Community and Programs
The Lindenow Football and Netball Club fields senior football teams as well as netball teams across multiple grades, catering to men and women of all ages in the local area. Junior football programs provide a pathway for young players in Lindenow and surrounds, helping to develop the next generation of local footballers. The club maintains a strong social culture, with community events and club functions that bring together players, families, and supporters across the Mitchell River valley community. Country Victorian football clubs like Lindenow are often the social centrepiece of their townships, and the club continues to fulfil this vital community role more than 130 years after its foundation.
Lindenow
Lindenow is a small agricultural township in the Shire of East Gippsland, situated approximately 12 kilometres north-west of Bairnsdale in the Mitchell River valley. The area is known for its market gardens and vegetable growing, particularly the production of Asian vegetables that have made the Lindenow district one of Victoria's most productive horticultural regions. The Mitchell River flows through the valley and is a significant natural feature of the landscape, draining into the Gippsland Lakes at Bairnsdale. The broader East Gippsland region is noted for its spectacular natural beauty, encompassing the Mitchell River National Park, the Snowy River, and the Croajingolong National Park near the New South Wales border.

Footy Banner Information
Material: All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using permanent inks which will not run, even if they get wet. They are fully recyclable.
How to Use: We recommend taping broomsticks or plastic pipe to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. If you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through. There are instructions and images for how to cut these in the FAQ section below.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon! This is why we do not pre-cut them, and also so you can get photographs with your intact banner when it looks at it's best.
Tip: Some players choose to only cut one weak spot in their banner so it can be saved and displayed later by taping it back together on the back.Pro Tip: Cut the weak spot to one side of the mascot or team logo so it stays intact as well!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
