Bayswater Bears Banners - Celebrating Every Bears Milestone
Whether it's a junior player's first 10 games or a long-serving player reaching a landmark milestone, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners that honour every Bayswater Bears achievement. Each banner is made specifically for the Bears, giving every celebration the recognition it deserves.
Simple to Order
Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner styles. Provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jack O'Brien, #7, 50 Games. Bayswater Bears banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, ready to hold up in the blazing WA afternoon at Upper Hillcrest Reserve.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Bears players reach the same milestone at the same game, our Two Player banner honours them both on one quality keepsake. Supply both players' names, guernsey numbers, and the shared milestone and we'll take care of the rest.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Our Team Banner option caters for 3 to 6 players and is perfect for junior group milestones or end-of-season recognitions. A top-line message like "Bayswater Bears - Premiers" is the perfect way to wrap up a winning season. Go the Bears!
Wall Keepsake Banners
Available in Small, Medium, and Large, Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Hang your Bears banner in the clubrooms, home study, or games room as a lasting reminder of a proud Bayswater Bears moment.
Grand Final Banners
Give the Bayswater Bears the grand final run-out they deserve with a fully customised banner. Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with custom top and bottom text. Contact us for design advice and to get your order in.
About Bayswater Bears Football Club
The Bayswater Junior Football Club - known affectionately as the Baysie Bears - was founded in 1933 by Charles Riebie, making it one of Perth's oldest and longest-running junior AFL clubs. The club began on Bayswater Oval, known locally as "The Rec", competing in the Temperance League and Metropolitan Juniors competitions across the metropolitan area. Over the following decades the club grew steadily, joining the Swan Districts Junior Football Council in 1951 before switching to the East Perth Junior Football Council in 1971, the competition it remains part of today.
Club History
The Bears have built a proud on-field record since those early days. The club won its first premiership in 1958 when the Under 16 side took out the Junior Council pennant, and followed that up the very next year with a double - claiming both the knock-out competition and the premiership with the Under 19 team. Over the years Bayswater has produced a strong pipeline of talent into the higher levels of the game. AFL alumni include Matt Clape, who played with Carlton and the West Coast Eagles, and Gavin Rose, who played for the Sydney Swans - a source of enormous pride for a junior club.
Home Ground
The Bears are based at Upper Hillcrest Reserve in Bayswater, a facility that has evolved significantly from the primitive timber shed the club used at Bayswater Oval in its early years. The club relocated through several grounds over its history - including a stint at Houghton Park from 1977 - before settling at its current home. The ground is shared with other local sporting groups and is a hub for community activity in the inner-north Perth area.
Community and Juniors
The Bayswater Junior Football Club is dedicated to developing young players from Pre-Primary through to Year 12, offering Auskick programs for the youngest participants and modified junior competitions for older age groups. The club has long served the Bayswater, Embleton, and Morley communities, and has maintained an affiliate relationship with the East Perth Football Club in the WAFL. St Columba's School is among the local schools that count many Bears families among their community, reflecting the club's deep roots in the area.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
