About Caroline Springs Lakers Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Caroline Springs Football Club, known as the Lakers, was established in 2002 when key stakeholders from the AFL, Football Victoria, the Western Region Football League (WRFL), and local schools met to explore the possibility of creating a club for the rapidly growing suburb of Caroline Springs. A public interest meeting on 19 June 2002 drew approximately 80 people - including representatives from the AFL, Football Victoria, the Western Bulldogs FC, Williamstown FC, Collingwood FC, and Western Jets FC. A steering committee was formed that same evening, and the club was incorporated shortly after. The Inaugural Annual General Meeting was held on 15 October 2002 at Brookside School, Federation Drive, Caroline Springs. The club's partnership with the Williamstown FC and Collingwood FC provided long-term financial and development resources for the fledgling club.

Club History
The Lakers began with junior teams before debuting in senior Western Football Netball League (WFNL) competition in Division 2 in 2011. The club has since grown into a competitive Division 1 side. The women's program has been particularly strong, with the Lakers claiming the WFNL St Vincent's Cup women's premiership on multiple occasions. In 2025, the senior women's side entered the grand final chasing a perfect season. On the men's side, the club's Under-18.5 Division also claimed a premier division championship, reflecting the club's depth across all age groups.

Home Ground
The Lakers play their home games at Town Centre Oval in Caroline Springs, a community sporting ground central to the suburb's layout. The oval is part of the broader Caroline Springs Town Centre precinct and is well positioned to serve the club's large local catchment.

Community and Programs
Caroline Springs Lakers FC is formally known as the Caroline Springs Football and Netball Club, encompassing both AFL and netball programs. The club fields junior, senior men's, and senior women's teams, and runs an AusKick centre for the youngest participants. The club's origin story reflects Caroline Springs' identity as a planned community - built from the ground up alongside its local institutions - and the Lakers have grown alongside the suburb's rapid population growth.

Caroline Springs is a suburb in Melbourne's west, located approximately 21 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD within the City of Melton. The suburb recorded a population of 20,365 at the 2021 census and was established in 1999 as a master-planned community developed by Delfin. Covering 4.9 square kilometres, it is bordered by Taylors Hill to the north and Burnside to the east, and is one of Melbourne's fastest-growing outer-western suburbs.
