About Chelsea Seagulls Junior Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Chelsea Seagulls Junior Football Club is the junior arm of the Chelsea Football Netball Club, a club with roots stretching back to 1911 when Chelsea first fielded a team under its own name. The junior program was formally established as a structured separate body in 1985, founded by former player Tom Gray, to provide a dedicated pathway for young players in the Chelsea community. The junior club covers age groups from Under-9s through to Under-18s and is affiliated with the Frankston and District Junior Football League (FDJFL), which feeds into the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League (MPNFL) pathway system.

Club History
Since the formal establishment of the junior body in 1985, the Chelsea Seagulls JFC has developed into an active and well-supported community program on Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula bayside strip. The senior Chelsea Football Netball Club has competed in the MPNFL for many years, and the junior club provides the pipeline of talent into that senior program. Chelsea's bayside location has given the Seagulls identity a coastal character that resonates strongly with the local community, and the club continues to grow its junior registration numbers year on year.

Home Ground
The Chelsea Seagulls play on the foreshore-adjacent ground in Chelsea, part of the broader Chelsea Football Netball Club complex. The oval is in Chelsea on the Mornington Peninsula, close to the beach, and provides a characteristic bayside football setting for junior game days.

Community and Programs
Chelsea Seagulls JFC fields boys and girls teams across all junior age groups, with an AusKick program at the base of the pathway. The club runs a welcoming, family-friendly environment and actively recruits new players each season. With the Mornington Peninsula's strong community football culture, the Seagulls are part of a well-supported local football network that includes multiple clubs across the bayside and peninsula regions.
