About East Brighton Vampires

Origins and Founding

The East Brighton Football Club was established in 1948, playing its first four seasons at Dendy Park before relocating to Hurlingham Park in 1952, which has remained the club's home ever since. The club adopted a distinctive red jumper with a white "V" collar from its earliest years, reverting to the original design in 1955 after a brief variation - the uniform that gave rise to the Vampires nickname and identity that endures today.

Club History

The Vampires have accumulated one of the richest records in the Southern Football Netball League (SFNL). Their first senior premiership came in 1966, following two grand final losses in 1955 and 1964. Further senior flags followed in 1973, 1976, 1988, 1991, 1993, 2002, 2004 and 2012. The club has also been active in the reserves competition, winning flags in 1962, 1964, 1966, 1972, 1976 and 1988. In 2025 the club competes in SFNL Division 1. The comprehensive first 50 years of the club's history was compiled by long-serving member Ross McCulloch into a 192-page document drawing on City of Brighton archives.

Home Ground

The Vampires have been based at Hurlingham Park in the suburb of East Brighton (now known as Bentleigh East) since 1952. The ground is a well-established community sports facility serving multiple clubs and community groups in the area. In addition to the senior club, the East Brighton Vampires Junior Football Club (SMJFL) also operates in the area, providing a junior pathway for local youth.

Community and Programs

The East Brighton Football Club runs senior men's football across multiple grades including firsts and reserves in the SFNL Division 1 competition. The club maintains close links with the East Brighton Vampires Junior Football Club, which provides a junior pathway through the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL). Together the two clubs serve the Bentleigh East, Brighton East and surrounding communities with a continuous football pathway from junior to senior level.

Bentleigh East

The suburb formerly known as East Brighton, now Bentleigh East, is located approximately 16 kilometres south-east of Melbourne's CBD in the Bayside and Glen Eira council areas. The area is characterised by tree-lined streets, established family homes and easy access to the Nepean Highway and the Sandringham railway line. It borders the neighbouring suburbs of Brighton, Moorabbin and Cheltenham, all part of Melbourne's popular inner south-east corridor.

The Vampires compete in the SFNL Division 1 and call Hurlingham Park home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
