About East Ringwood Roos
Origins and Founding
The East Ringwood Football Club was founded in 1929, initially competing in the Ringwood District Football Association before the Second World War. After the war the club played in the Croydon Football League and later became a founding member of the Eastern Football League (EFL). The club has spent its entire history in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and has been a cornerstone of community sport in the Ringwood area for nearly a century.

Club History
The Roos have claimed 11 senior premierships over their long history - in 1941, 1947, 1953, 1954, 1957, 1961, 1966, 1974, 1984, 2002 and 2022. The club competes in the Premier Division of the Eastern Football League, the highest tier of the EFL. Several notable players have progressed from East Ringwood to the AFL, including Shane Biggs (Western Bulldogs), Daniel McStay (Brisbane Lions and Collingwood), Leigh Osborne (Gold Coast Suns), Jess Sinclair (North Melbourne), Nick Watson (Hawthorn), Heath Hocking (Essendon), Wil Parker (Collingwood) and Xavier Taylor (Melbourne).

Home Ground
The Roos play their home games at East Ringwood Reserve, a well-established sporting precinct in the suburb of Ringwood East. The reserve hosts the club's senior and junior football operations and has been the home ground for many decades of Roos history.

Community and Programs
The East Ringwood Football Club offers senior men's football across multiple grades. The club maintains strong links with local junior football clubs to provide a pathway for young players in the Ringwood area. It is affiliated with Football Victoria's eastern district structure through the EFL and participates in finals every few seasons through its Premier Division competition.

Ringwood East
Ringwood East is an inner-eastern suburb of Melbourne in the City of Maroondah, located approximately 25 kilometres east of the Melbourne CBD. The suburb is bordered by Ringwood, Heathmont and Croydon, and is well served by the Belgrave rail line. The broader Ringwood area has undergone significant urban renewal in recent years, including the transformation of the Eastland shopping precinct and major upgrades to Ringwood railway station, making it a growing activity centre in Melbourne's east.
