Eastlake Demons Banners - Canberra's AFL Pride Since 1991

With deep roots stretching back to 1926, the Eastlake Demons Football Club has been a cornerstone of Australian rules football in the ACT, and FootyBanners.com is proud to help the Demons celebrate every milestone with a custom banner that reflects that proud history.

Simple to Order

Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options and provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone (for example, Zac Hammond, #8, 100 Games). Banners use permanent inks on heavy-duty paper that holds up through a cold Canberra afternoon at the ground.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Demons players hit the same milestone in the same match, our Two Player banner celebrates them both in one great design. Provide both players' names and guernsey numbers and we'll take it from there.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Celebrating 3 to 6 players together? Our Team Banner option covers everyone in one powerful design. Choose a strong top-line message like "Rise Up Demons!" and send the squad running through with pride.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. A brilliant addition to the Demons clubrooms or a home display celebrating a great career at Eastlake.

Grand Final Banners

When the Demons are playing for the AFL Canberra flag, step up with a Grand Final banner in 4.5m or 5.5m. Top and bottom text is fully customised for Eastlake Demons Football Club. Reach out for wording and design support ahead of the day.

About Eastlake Demons Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Eastlake Demons are one of Canberra's oldest Australian rules football clubs, founded in 1926 - just two years after the Federal Territory Australian Rules Football League was established. The club was formed largely by local tradesmen who had relocated to Canberra from the southern states. During World War II, Eastlake briefly merged with Manuka to operate as a combined side known as "City" from 1942 to 1944. Following the war, the club re-established its own identity and continued to grow as one of the ACT's premier football clubs.

Club History

The club's greatest era came between 1962 and 1966, when Eastlake dominated the Canberra football scene by winning five consecutive premierships. Playing a strong, aggressive style with a formidable defence, the side was rarely tested during this remarkable streak. Future VFL champion Alex Jesaulenko was a member of three of those premiership-winning combinations. After losing three consecutive grand finals from 1982 to 1984, the club entered into a merger agreement with Manuka in 1991, forming the Southern District Demons. The merged club later became the Canberra Demons, competing in the North East Australian Football League (NEAFL) from the league's founding in 2011 until the NEAFL was absorbed into the expanded VFL in 2021, with Canberra declining to join that competition. In local AFL Canberra competition, the Demons won the premiership in 2001, and then broke a 24-year drought by defeating the Queanbeyan Tigers by 37 points in the 2025 AFL Canberra grand final on 6 September 2025. Notable alumni include Tom Green (GWS Giants and Melbourne), Harry Himmelberg (GWS Giants), Josh Bruce (West Coast Eagles and St Kilda), Aaron Rogers (Gold Coast and GWS) and Craig Bolton (Brisbane Lions).

Home Ground

The Demons play out of Phillip Oval, located in Phillip in the district of Woden Valley, Canberra. The ground - also known for sponsorship reasons as EPC Solar Park - holds up to 7,500 spectators and was upgraded in 2018 with a renovated pavilion, changing rooms, floodlights and an electronic scoreboard. Phillip Oval is regarded as the second-tier AFL venue in Canberra, behind the historic Manuka Oval.

Community and Programs

The Eastlake Demons field teams across the senior men's, reserves, under-18 and women's grades in AFL Canberra competition. The club's women's team has been a consistent force since the early 2000s, winning nine premierships from 2002 onwards. The club also provides Auskick and junior pathways for players in the inner south of Canberra, and has historically served as a major development pathway to elite football.

Phillip and the Inner South

Phillip is a suburb in the Woden Valley district of Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory. Located approximately 10 kilometres south of the Canberra CBD, Phillip serves as the commercial hub of the Woden Valley region, home to the Woden Town Centre shopping precinct, government offices and community services. The inner south of Canberra - which includes suburbs such as Kingston, Griffith, Narrabundah and Red Hill - is characterised by established residential neighbourhoods, strong community ties and proximity to Lake Burley Griffin and the Parliamentary Triangle.

The Demons compete in AFL Canberra and call Phillip Oval home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
