About Eynesbury Eagles Football and Netball Club
Origins and Founding
The Eynesbury Eagles Football and Netball Club was established to serve the rapidly growing community of Eynesbury, a master-planned suburb on Melbourne's south-western fringe. The club is based at the Eagles Nest at 1 Avoca Street, Eynesbury, and caters to all ages from Auskick through to youth competition levels. In 2021, the Eagles fielded their first senior football team, competing in the Riddell District Football Netball League (RDFNL) Club 18s division - a significant milestone in the club's short but energetic history.
Club History
Despite being a young club, the Eynesbury Eagles have already celebrated premiership success, with the Under 12 boys claiming a flag in 2017. The club has grown rapidly alongside the expanding Eynesbury community, with participation numbers increasing year on year as the suburb's population grows. Football and netball programs are run together under the one club banner, creating a unified sporting community at the Eagles Nest. The RDFNL Club 18s entry in 2021 marked the Eagles' first step into senior competition, with aspirations to build out further senior teams as the local population continues to mature.
Home Ground
The Eagles call the Eagles Nest home - the club's facility at 1 Avoca Street in Eynesbury. The ground sits within one of the Melton City area's newest suburbs, with facilities that have been developed alongside the suburb's rapid residential expansion. The ground hosts football and netball across all junior and youth age groups throughout the season.
Community and Programs
The Eynesbury Eagles run Auskick, Net Set Go, and junior programs spanning Under 9 through Under 15 in football, and Under 11 through Under 15 in netball, plus a senior women's netball competition. The club operates on a strong volunteer base and places emphasis on inclusivity, participation, and healthy lifestyles for all children in the Eynesbury community. Social memberships are also available for supporters and parents who want to be part of the Eagles family.
Eynesbury
Eynesbury is a master-planned suburb on the south-western fringe of Melbourne, Victoria, located approximately 44 kilometres west of the Melbourne CBD within the City of Melton. With a population of 2,838 at the 2021 Census - and growing rapidly - Eynesbury is characterised by premium residential estates, walking trails, and open green spaces built around an 18-hole golf course. The suburb is one of several growth communities in the City of Melton region and is expected to continue expanding significantly in the years ahead.
