Ferntree Gully Eagles Banners - Soar High with Custom Footy Banners
When a Ferntree Gully Eagle hits a milestone worth celebrating, FootyBanners.com makes it easy to mark the occasion in style. From junior footy to senior games, we create custom banners for Eagles fans across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Simple to Order
Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banners. For a Single Player banner, simply provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and the milestone being celebrated. All banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty paper, built to last through a cold Melbourne winter afternoon in the hills.
Two Players, One Banner
Celebrating a shared milestone? Our Two Player banner lets you honour two Eagles on the same banner. Just provide both names and guernsey numbers for a quality banner that marks the occasion for both players.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Our Team Banner accommodates 3 to 6 players celebrating together. Try a top-line message like "Eagles Rising!" and round it off with a closing tagline that captures the spirit of Ferntree Gully football. Perfect for team milestones and end-of-season celebrations.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Available in Small, Medium, and Large, Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Hang them in the clubrooms, a garage, or a games room to celebrate great seasons with the Eagles.
Grand Final Banners
Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes, Grand Final Banners can be fully customised with your own top and bottom text. Contact us for design advice and make the Ferntree Gully Eagles Football and Netball Club's biggest day truly unforgettable.
About Ferntree Gully Eagles Football and Netball Club
Origins and Founding
The Ferntree Gully Eagles Football and Netball Club traces its roots to 23 March 1892, when the Ferntree Gully Football Club was formally established at a meeting in Dobson's Hall, with J.T. Dobson elected as the first president and Henry Monk as the first captain. The club originally played in the Box Hill Reporter League, wearing red and white, and was reputed to have won a flag in those early years. Over its 130-plus year history, the club has competed across multiple leagues including the Box Hill Reporter League (1892-1914), the Scoresby District Football Association (1920s), the Mountain District Football Association, the Dandenong Football Association, and the Eastern Districts/Eastern Football League (from 1951).
Club History
The Eagles have accumulated an impressive list of premierships across many eras, including flags in 1912, 1913 (Box Hill Reporter League), 1922, 1925, 1926 (SDFA), 1949, 1957, 1960, 1961 (Mountain District/Dandenong), and 1968, when the club won all grades - Seniors, Reserves and Under 16 - in the EDFL. The club claimed another senior flag in 1987 and EFL Division 4 Senior and Development premierships in 2016. In the late 2000s, Ferntree Gully FC merged with Knox Eagles Junior Football Club, creating the combined Eagles football and netball club. The seniors now compete in the Eastern Football Netball League (EFNL).
Home Ground
The Ferntree Gully Eagles are based in Ferntree Gully, in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. The club's main facility has been home to football in the area for generations, serving both the senior and junior programs that make up the merged Eagles organisation.
Community and Programs
The club runs senior, junior, and netball programs across the EFNL and associated junior leagues. The junior division, formerly Knox Eagles, provides junior pathways from Auskick through youth football. The netball arm competes in EFNL netball competitions. The club is a volunteer-driven community organisation deeply embedded in the Ferntree Gully and Knox area.
Ferntree Gully
Ferntree Gully is a leafy, family-friendly suburb in Melbourne's outer east, located approximately 32 kilometres from the CBD at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges National Park. With a population of 27,398 at the 2021 Census, the suburb is characterised by tree-lined streets, proximity to Kokoda Track Memorial Walk, and a relaxed community feel. Rigging Your Banner
-
Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.
-
This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.
-
-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
-
