Lower Plenty Bears Banners - Mark Every Milestone with the Bears

From first-game celebrations to big milestone run-throughs, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners that capture the moment for every Lower Plenty Bears player. Give your champion the recognition they deserve.

Simple to Order

We offer Single Player, Two Player, Team, and Grand Final banner options. To personalise your order, provide the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Joel Andrews, #10, 100 Games. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, your banner is made to withstand a crisp Melbourne winter morning at Montmorency Park.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Bears share a milestone, a Two Player Banner is the perfect way to celebrate them both together. Provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the shared milestone for a quality keepsake they will both treasure.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Feature 3 to 6 players on a Team Banner and create a game day moment the whole club will remember. A top-line message like "Go Bears!" or a special team message captures the spirit of a great season perfectly.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks built to last. A Bears keepsake banner is the perfect addition to the clubrooms, the garage, or the family games room.

Grand Final Banners

Make grand final day unforgettable for the Lower Plenty Bears with a 4.5m or 5.5m banner featuring fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us and our team will help you design something truly special.

About Lower Plenty Bears

Origins and Founding

The Lower Plenty Football Club was founded in 1961 as the Diamond Valley Churches Football Club, initially competing in the Metropolitan Churches League. When that league folded in 1970, the club reformed as Diamond Valley United and joined the Eastern Suburban Churches Football Association. After further competition moves - including a stint in the Panton Hill Football League from 1983 to 1985 and the Southern Football League in 1993 and 1994 - the club settled into the Second Division of the Diamond Valley Football League in 1995 under the name Lower Plenty Football Club.

Club History

Lower Plenty won the 1999 Second Division premiership and earned promotion to First Division, where they competed for several seasons before returning to Division Two. In 2011, the Bears won the NFNL Second Division Grand Final, defeating Epping, and again rose to Division 1 competition. A memorable 2018 grand final victory over Eltham - secured after the siren - brought the Bears another promotion from Division 2. The club currently competes in NFNL Division 2 and is aligned with the Research Junior Football Club for junior pathway development.

Home Ground

The Bears play at the upper oval of Para Road Reserve in Montmorency, which sits adjacent to the Montmorency Football Club's home ground. The venue, also referred to as Montmorency Park Upper Oval, provides a well-established facility for NFNL competition. Despite the club carrying the Lower Plenty name, Para Road Reserve in Montmorency has been the Bears' home base for many years.

Community and Programs

Lower Plenty FC fields senior men's and women's sides in the NFNL and maintains close ties with Research Junior Football Club as its junior development partner. The club has built a loyal supporter base across the Lower Plenty and Montmorency communities through decades of competition across multiple leagues and divisions. Its long history of resilience - frequently competing for promotion and maintaining senior football in the area since 1961 - reflects the dedication of its volunteer and playing community.

Lower Plenty

Lower Plenty is a suburb of Melbourne located 16 kilometres northeast of the CBD in the City of Banyule local government area. It recorded a population of 3,962 at the 2021 census. The suburb almost certainly takes its name from the Lower Plenty Toll Bridge, a bluestone bridge built in 1860 to collect tolls across the Plenty River, which still stands today. The area is bounded by the Plenty River and the Yarra River, making it one of the greener and more scenic outer northern suburbs of Melbourne.

The Bears compete in NFNL Division 2 and call Para Road Reserve home. Find them on the NFNL website at nfnl.org.au.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
