Maribyrnong Park Lions Football Banners - Represent the Marby Lions

From milestone games to grand final glory, FootyBanners.com helps you create a personalised banner that puts your favourite Marby Lions player in the spotlight. Whether you're celebrating a 50th game or a premiership run, a custom Maribyrnong Park Lions Football banner is the perfect way to mark the moment.

Simple to Order

Choose your Single Player Banner and provide your player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone. Our banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper - tough enough to handle a bitter Melbourne winter or a roasting afternoon at Maribyrnong Park.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Marby Lions are hitting the same milestone, our Two Player Banner lets you celebrate both at once. Just supply each player's name and guernsey number for a quality two-player banner the whole club will love.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Our Team Banner option covers 3 to 6 players in one banner. Set the top line to something like "Marby Lions - We Back Our Boys" and let the banner tell the story. A great fit for presentation nights and group milestones at Moonee Ponds.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Hang your Marby Lions banner in the clubrooms, the garage, or the games room as a lasting tribute to your favourite Maribyrnong Park player.

Grand Final Banners

Available in 4.5m and 5.5m, our Grand Final Banners can be fully customised with your own top and bottom text. Contact us for personalised design advice for your Maribyrnong Park Football Club grand final banner.

About Maribyrnong Park Football Club

Origins and Founding

Maribyrnong Park Football Club (MPFC) was formed in 1980 through the amalgamation of two neighbouring clubs - the Riverside Stars, established in 1947, and the Moonee Imperials, established in 1951. Both clubs had shared the same clubrooms and played on adjacent ovals at Maribyrnong Park for decades before their merger. The combined entity took on the Lions nickname and has competed in the Essendon District Football League (EDFL) ever since, drawing players and families from the Moonee Ponds corridor in Melbourne's inner north-west.

Club History

The Marby Lions have built a proud record across decades of EDFL competition. Their most significant recent achievement came in September 2024 when Maribyrnong Park claimed their first premiership since 2010, defeating West Coburg by 59 points in the grand final to return to the EDFL Premier Division. As of 2024, the club competes in the Premier Division with a coaching staff focused on sustained top-flight competitiveness. The club fields senior men's, reserves, under-18.5, and women's teams, with a strong junior program running on Sundays. In 2017 the women's program was added to the club's structure, further broadening participation.

Home Ground

The Lions are based at Maribyrnong Park, located at 40 The Boulevard, Moonee Ponds VIC 3039, alongside the Maribyrnong River. The facility includes two ovals - Monk Oval and Walsh Oval - used for senior and junior games respectively. Senior games are played on Saturdays and junior games on Sundays, with all training and home games held at the ground. The parkland setting along the river makes Maribyrnong Park one of the more picturesque community football venues in Melbourne's inner suburbs.

Community and Programs

MPFC offers programs for men, women, juniors, and Auskick participants, making it a true family club. The club's community focus is reflected in its strong volunteer base and the long-standing relationships it holds with local schools, businesses, and organisations in the Moonee Valley area. The club also runs a Netball program for members of all ages, adding another layer of community sporting participation alongside AFL football.

Moonee Ponds

Moonee Ponds is a vibrant inner suburb of Melbourne located approximately seven kilometres north-west of the CBD, within the City of Moonee Valley. Known for its lively Puckle Street shopping precinct, the suburb is bordered by Essendon, Flemington, and Ascot Vale. The Moonee Ponds Creek runs through the area and connects to the nearby Maribyrnong River - the same waterway that forms the backdrop of the Lions' home ground. The suburb has a diverse residential community and a strong local identity shaped by generations of families, many of whom have long ties to the Marby Lions.

The Lions compete in the Essendon District Football League (EDFL) and call Maribyrnong Park in Moonee Ponds home. Visit the Maribyrnong Park Football Club website for news, fixtures, and registration, and follow them on Instagram for match day updates and news from the club.

  • Footy Banner Information

Material:  All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using permanent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.  They are fully recyclable.

How to Use:  We recommend taping broomsticks or plastic pipe to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it.  If you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.  There are instructions and images for how to cut these in the FAQ section below.

On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!  This is why we do not pre-cut them, and also so you can get photographs with your intact banner when it looks at it's best.

Tip: Some players choose to only cut one weak spot in their banner so it can be saved and displayed later by taping it back together on the back.

Pro Tip:  Cut the weak spot to one side of the mascot or team logo so it stays intact as well!

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
