Moe Lions Banners - Celebrating Every Lions Milestone

Whether it's a junior reaching 50 games or a senior stalwart hitting 300, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners that honour every Moe Lions moment in style. Every order is tailored for the Lions, making each celebration as unique as the player being recognised.

Simple to Order

Select from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options. Simply provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Liam Pearson, #11, 150 Games. Moe Lions banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, tough enough for the brisk Gippsland winter at Ted Summerton Reserve.

Two Players, One Banner

Two Lions reaching the same milestone? Our Two Player banner lets you celebrate them both on one quality keepsake. Provide both players' names, guernsey numbers, and the shared milestone for a banner they'll both want on their wall.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Recognise a group of 3 to 6 players with our Team Banner option - ideal for group milestones or seasons worth remembering. A top-line message like "Moe Lions - Premiers" sets the perfect celebratory tone. Go the Lions!

Wall Keepsake Banners

Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large and are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Hang your Lions banner in the clubrooms, garage, or games room as a proud reminder of a memorable Moe Lions season.

About Moe Lions

Origins and Founding

The Moe Football Netball Club, nicknamed the Lions, has deep roots in Gippsland football stretching back to 1889, when a meeting at Semmen's Moe Hotel established the town's first football club. The club entered the Central Gippsland Football Association in 1909 - the major Gippsland competition of the era - and has operated continuously as one of the region's central football institutions. Over its history the club has competed across numerous leagues as the competition structure in Gippsland evolved, and now plays in the Gippsland Football League, which it joined in 2010 as the successor to the West Gippsland Latrobe Football League.

Club History

Moe has claimed six senior football premierships: winning the Narracan Shire FA in 1912, the Erica District FA in 1927 (won on the last kick of the game by J. Walsh), the Yallourn and District FA in 1941, the Central Gippsland Wartime Football League in 1945, and the Latrobe Valley Football League in 1956 and 1967. The club has produced multiple VFL and AFL players, including Barry Rowlings (Hawthorn and Richmond), Lachlan Sim (Brisbane Bears), Troy Makepeace (North Melbourne), Sam Skinner (Brisbane), and Declan Keilty, who played for Melbourne in 2018 and now coaches the Lions. The netball program has also achieved success, winning the Gippsland Football League A Grade netball premiership in 2018, 2023, and 2024.

Home Ground

The Lions play at Ted Summerton Reserve in Moe, a well-established ground that serves both the football and netball programs. Ted Summerton Reserve is central to the sporting life of Moe and hosts Gippsland Football League home matches across multiple grades throughout the season. The ground is named in honour of a significant contributor to the local sporting community.

Community and Programs

Moe Football Netball Club operates a full community sports program combining senior and junior football with a comprehensive netball program across all age groups. The junior football pathway includes Under 16 teams that won the Gippsland Football League title in 2014, 2016, and 2017. The netball division runs teams from Under 13 through to A Grade, with consistent competition across the Gippsland League. The Gippsland FL brings together clubs from Bairnsdale, Drouin, Leongatha, Maffra, Moe, Morwell, Sale, Traralgon, Warragul, and Wonthaggi.

Moe

Moe is a town in the Latrobe Valley, Gippsland, Victoria, located approximately 120 km east of Melbourne. The town forms part of the Latrobe City local government area, which also includes the larger centres of Traralgon and Morwell. Moe and the broader Latrobe Valley region have historically been associated with brown coal mining and electricity generation. The town serves as a gateway to the Baw Baw National Park and the alpine region of eastern Victoria.

The Lions compete in the Gippsland Football League and call Ted Summerton Reserve, Moe home. Visit the club website, or follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
