Montmorency Magpies Banners - Celebrate Your Magpies Moment

Whether it's a big milestone or a finals run to remember, FootyBanners.com crafts custom banners for Montmorency Magpies players and their proud supporters. Give your champion a send-off they deserve.

Simple to Order

We offer Single Player, Two Player, Team, and Grand Final banner options. To personalise your banner, provide the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, James Kelly, #5, 150 Games. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, your banner is built tough for a cold Melbourne winter morning at Montmorency Park.

Two Players, One Banner

Got two Magpies reaching the same milestone? A Two Player Banner is the perfect way to celebrate them both at once. Simply provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the shared milestone for a quality keepsake.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Showcase 3 to 6 players on one Team Banner and give the whole group something special to remember. A top-line message like "Up the Magpies!" captures the spirit of the side and fires the team up ahead of the bounce.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Whether it ends up in the clubrooms, the garage, or the games room at home, a Magpies keepsake banner is a proud reminder of the season.

Grand Final Banners

Go all in on grand final day with a 4.5m or 5.5m Grand Final Banner featuring fully customised top and bottom text for the Montmorency Magpies. Get in touch and our team will help you create the perfect design.

About Montmorency Football Netball Club

Origins and Founding

The Montmorency Football Netball Club - known as the Magpies, or simply "Monty" - was founded in 1924 by Harold Hodgson. The club's inaugural season was played at Memorial Park in Greensborough, before the club relocated to its permanent home ground in Montmorency in 1925 and joined the Diamond Valley Football League (DVFL) that same year. After competing until 1931, the club went into recess but was revived in 1936 and has competed in the Diamond Valley competition and its successors without interruption ever since. Today the club competes in Division 1 of the Northern Football Netball League (NFNL), which succeeded the DVFL in 2007.

Club History

Montmorency has won four A-Grade premierships during its history: in 1951, 1954, 1976, and 1979. The 1970s represent the club's most decorated decade, with back-to-back Grand Final appearances in 1977 and 1978 bookending the 1976 premiership victory, before the Magpies claimed their most recent flag in 1979. The club has remained a consistent presence in the NFNL Division 1 competition and continues to be regarded as one of the foundation clubs of the Diamond Valley football tradition. As referenced on the club's Wikipedia entry, Montmorency's century-long history makes it one of the longer-serving clubs in the northern competition.

Home Ground

The Magpies play their home matches at Montmorency Park Oval No.2 on Para Road in Montmorency. The ground has served as the club's home since 1925 and sits within the leafy Plenty River corridor that characterises much of the suburb. The club's netball program operates alongside the football program, with teams competing across multiple grades each season.

Community and Programs

The Montmorency FNC fields senior men's football, senior women's football, reserves, Under 18s, and netball teams. The club's motto, "Side by Side," reflects its emphasis on teamwork and community. Junior pathways connect local young players to the senior Magpies sides, and the club maintains strong links to schools and families throughout the Montmorency and Greensborough corridor.

Montmorency

Montmorency is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, located approximately 18 kilometres north-east of the Central Business District within the City of Banyule local government area. The suburb recorded a population of 9,250 at the 2021 census and takes its name from the Montmorency Estate, which itself was named after the French town of Montmorency - where philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau once lived. Locals affectionately call the suburb "Monty," a nickname it shares with its football club. The area is known for its proximity to the Plenty River and its leafy, residential character.

The Magpies compete in the Northern Football Netball League Division 1 and call Montmorency Park home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
